love how this ends on a premise for a whole new seinfeld episode. "they weren't over medium they were over easy!" kramer doesn't believe jerry can really tell the difference and makes him some eggs to try. they end up arguing about whether then eggs kramer cooked were over easy or over medium, to which george becomes an unwilling referee. elaine thinks they're crazy, but the next day at work her colleague borrows a pen but returns one that appears identical yet is somehow different, causing her consternation. back at jerry's the argument has escalated with kramer bringing new dishes one after the other to test jerry on, all with slight variations on the standard recipe to see if he can tell. elaine has a full blown conspiracy theory going about why the colleague gave her a different pen, while george has visited the diner where jerry ate the eggs, got creamer instead of milk in his coffee, and now believes they're switching around people's orders for some kind of social experiment.

Yeah, exactly. When he explained the MAIN issue with people getting offended by comics by saying that, "You dont get to decide what I meant, you're in my head now...". That is EXACTLY what people who get offended try to do. Its really sad and pathetic that someone has the gall to think they can judge what a comic meant with a joke. Here's a tip: You go to a comedy show, just ASSUME that 99% of what the comics say is meant to get a laugh ONLY. Its not meant to be taken seriously in any way shape or form. Kinda goes without saying, but apparently it still needs to be said

Went to a comedy show once. I sat front row. I got destroyed by the guy. He came up to me after the show and apologized about some of the stuff he said. Told me he was only trying to get laughs. I told him it wasn't a big deal. I can laugh at myself. It always struck me as odd that a comedian, even a guy just starting out, would think about this stuff. I never took offence. Who would? If you go to a comedy show you're fair game.

@@axeavier Exactly , reading through George Carlin's videos' comments sections and every other top comment being like "OMG COMEDIANS SPEAK MORE TRUTH THAN THE EXPERTS" - like no you fucking clown , these are comics and their job is to crack jokes and subject everything to derision to make you laugh , not to provide profound insight over extremely convoluted sociopolitical or socioeconomic issues. I agree that quite often outspoken Comics have the gall to exclaim uncomfortable truths - but taking George Carlin's "fuck the environment" joke literally for example is just dumbfuckery at its finest.

@@johns783 Yeah, comedy doesn’t translate across human experience and culture that well. This is why major global movie hits are usually spectacles, not comedies. And large market comedies are very broad, simple humor. Also why overly intricate music doesn’t go global: too much culture and nuance to have mass appeal. Pretty much seems to hold for every art form.

Yes, but he can also be quite confrontational and challenging, and being an interviewer is not as easy as it looks especially for people less known than him/who look up to him - which I think Bill Burr also forgets sometime when he busts all of his interviewers balls. They need to multitask (ask, listen, be spontaneous but also keep to the protocol, change the protocol along the way, etc), they have higher-ups who dictate the content, they expose themselves and are vulnurable. It's easy being the "real" one as an interviewee, imagine Bill Burr interviewing someone and you'd see him struggle a little more as well. Yes, often times he's too real for conventional fake shit (media, news, talk shows...). But often he's also grumpy and ruthless towards people who are real and genuine. His podcast with Theo Von was brutal for example, and Theo is such a real and nice guy who didn't deserve that shit.

@Keynesian Economics My take is that he clearly feels emotions from cars, and I'm sure he maybe loved those cars at some point, but sometimes you gotta get married and settle down with a nice Prius to provide for your kids, you know? Jerry is shaming this man for making a sacrifice! He knows what he's missing out on! But Bill is actually too short tempered and irritable, and too busy, to take care of a driving machine worth feeling passionate about. It's a shame Jerry didn't press the topic. Tons of potential for riffs and laughs with them fighting about cars. The effete rich guy berating the blue collar working man who chooses to drive a Prius to avoid the coronary a Porsche would give him?
