I love how Sherri's Berries has dropped Bill multiple times but keep coming back because his sales are undeniable. The first read he did of theirs was hilarious. Dropped. They came back, then he was doing the read with a guest on the podcast who's a black comic. They were riffing about the white chocolate berries coming with little Klan hoods. Dropped again. Guess who's back every Valentine's and Mother's day with reads on the MMP?

I really think people tend to overlook the underlying benefit of Bill reading through all the text contained in the ad. By reading the parts that were meant to be improvised and seem natural, you get a window of just how contrived and disingenuous the copy is, giving all these bullshit prefaces for having the host promote the product. I can't tell you how much more aware and mentally conscious coming across ads in other podcasts/channels becomes and how hilarious it is to see these people just take on these false premises as if they're really telling a true story of how they came to be so supportive of whatever is in the ad.

Wow really dumb move from Soothe. Bill gave them like a five min amazing ad read and if you know how expensive it is to put ads on podcasts I 100% guarantee that they only paid for 1min. Possibly 2min but even that is very rare. Bill knows how to sell. He talks to his audience when pushing a product the exact way he’d always talk to them because it’s proof that he’s not selling his soul for the marketing. He isn’t willing to sacrifice his reputation to pretend to love Soothe, and ironically being genuine is how more stuff gets sold
