Bill is will always be the GOAT. Chase’s success shows he’s also a great dad... well grounded humble young man. Love this man, and there will never be another Awesome Bill

Bill is my cousin even though I've never met him personally. I sent him a letter when I was in fourth grade as a flat stanley project, and he sent me back license plates, bumper stickers, and free tickets to come and watch him race. "I love ya Bill" --Mike Elliott

Bill is and always be the man. Earnhardt rubbed drivers out of the way, Bill was more respectful and did it in a gentleman demeanor. Drive hard and be polite to a point. Class act and my hero growing up

I was a big Bill Elliott fan, (I began following Chase when I found out that he was Bill’s son)!

And to think when he did this interview i bet he never thought his son would have a championship at 24 and be the third youngest driver to win a cup title and also be most popular driver. I was born in 78 and for as long as i can remember wild bill is who my daddy friends and family and myself rooted for, and were all GEORGIA boy's so Bill was our favourite now we love to root for Chase!!

Bill Elliott is the reason, that I became a NASCAR fan. What I don’t understand is why nobody ever says anything about him when anyone talking about Earnhardt and his rivals. They were definitely rivals. Nothing like seeing the Coors Melling Ford Thunderbird.

Bill was the gentleman of racing and if Chase maintains those standards he will go far.

I would like to beg the question, does this person interviewing Bill Elliott even know what they are doing?

I wish the kid was driving a Ford. I wonder if Bill and Ford had a falling out?

I saw a interview with Bill when Chase was still running for JR in the Nationwide series at the time and he said he tried to work out a deal with Ford but they couldn't get it done. I'm guessing Ford is kicking themselves in the ass.

Ford has a long reputation of only wanting to work with a select few teams and screw everyone else it seems. It's a miracle they have had as much success as they've had considering that mentaility of management.

It's all money and sponsorships, and timing. Happens in all sports to a degree. I'm sure every MLB baseball player would rather be playing for the team they grew up following. Imagine growing up a Yankee's fan and having to play for the Red Sox or Padre's? They never admit that on camera, but I'm sure they all think it.

Rick Hendrick had a hold of Chase at a very early age. He signed Chase to a developmental deal in like 2011. The timing of spingate couldn’t be better either cause Napa fell into his lap
