I still think we don't have the right comedians, especially at this most ironic of times. Colbert is not as funny on the Late Night. Is it the writers? OR may be he makes enough now to not show the creativity. The interview with Obama was childish too, plus the interview with Bill O'Reilly was weak. It was literally like watching the TV show in the novel, Hunger Games, while the whole planet is about to burn.

SK B it's because he's not in character anymore and on this show he's just being himself. I think if we didn't know how amazing he was on the CR he'd seem a lot better, but we are always expecting his amazing talent for satire and his quick wit that we are let down when he changes gears and does a much more routine nightly show.

@rowanatkinson35948 жыл бұрын
Christina Barrington On the other hand, if what he puts out on his show is what he expects others to listen to, persona or not, that deserves some level of scorn. Even if Fox rewards that sort of nonsense. At least we have Shepard Smith, hero of America.

Unfortunately a growing number of young misguided men think that being respectful, decent and acting composed towards your political opponents is being "politically correct". Therefore it's better to be a tantrum throwing, loud-mouthed bully throwing personal insults to prove how "independent" and "alpha" you are. It's quite sad many are turning their backs on civil debates/conversations, made to believe that acting like the primary school bully is the way to get respect.

Taxeros that is true, but this is a trap that many religious people fall into: in science we don't need to have absolute 100% certainty of a proposition's truth value to consider it valid, nor does a theory need to be absolutely all-encompassing with all the details worked out and no questions left, for it to be useful and a good model of reality (within certain limits).
@ttoughtask72968 жыл бұрын
pizda matii Correct scientific theory is a model that best explains the facts (observations, data etc) it has to make testable predictions therefore can be falsified. if the predictions can't be confirmed then the Theory is either modified or rejected. I'm reality theories are more often refined as more data becomes available and more tests are made or become available.

Two Irish-American Catholics who disagree on a lot, but manage to get along. Stephen always gets uncomfortable when Bill mentions the Colbert last name because it's actually pronounced COAL - BURT, not that French sounding COAL-BEAR. Stephen changed the pronunciation to the French sounding version for fame, or that's the supposed story on that. You can look that up in an old appearance Stephen made in Bill O'Reilly's fox news show, "The O'Reilly Factor" (also look up Wikipedia and biographies of Stephen). I'm a democrat and I support Hillary no doubt, but I think Bill does made some interesting points which I think are true: Not everyone on Fox News likes Trump. Examples: Shepard Smith, Juan Williams, Dana Perino, Charles Krauthammer, Bret Baier, etc. I don't even think Brit Hume likes Donald. THIS DOESN'T MEAN THEY SUPPORT HILLARY, BUT THEY UNDERSTAND HOW UNQUALIFIED AND ILL PREPARED TRUMP IS. And of course, Bill O'Reilly himself probably doesn't like Trump for president, even though he's pretty friendly with him.

I have incredible more respect for Colbert , I don't how he does it, but he somehow made things worked. Great job, Steven. I learned so much from you.

How weird is it that this election cycle Bill O'Reilly seems like the voice of sanity?
@grumpyturtle96828 жыл бұрын
I cannot believe I'm actually saying this, but I really like Bill O'Reilly in this video. I know how a person acts on camera does not accurately portray how they behave in real life, but I've always imagined Bill as a more bullheaded like individual. Here he seems like a genuinely cool sought of guy who would be fun to chat with and hear his opinions on American politics.

someone enlighten me, what is the meaning of keeping on repeating I don't use anonymous sources then say it as a fact on his show? Is it using or not using?
@Avenger2228 жыл бұрын
It's like "pushing a narrative" while adding a disclaimer that says "may or may not be true". Then the people watching his show ignore this disclaimer (tbf, almost everyone ignores disclaimers) and then when someone says, "Hey wait! That's not actually true! Here's the facts that prove it," Bill can say, "You should have read the disclaimer!" Win - Win.

Bill's got some balls coming on the Colbert show... they might be saggy and old, but they're out there.

He's done Colbert before, I think, and Colbert has done the O'Reilly factor.

I wouldn't say that he's an awful person. I don't agree with him on everything (or most things for that matter), but he seems like an honestly nice person most of the time.

Arif Rachman Oh that's different. Personally, I find him not too bad. He has made mistakes before I will not deny, but he seems like he is trying his best to be unbiased.

What do you know, Bill got smarter once he had to examine why he's in the same party as Trump. Self examination does wonders on one's understanding of things.
