The story of Wilson Combat really reminds me of the the way RCBS started with Vernon Speer and Fred Huntington. I started reloading in 1979 and in the RCBS manuals the history of that company is explained, I must have read and reread it a dozen times. .... Thank you Bill and Ken... and Vernon and Fred

I get a Wilson Combat 1911 tomorrow. The first WC in my collection. I have never been so excited about a pistol in particular. It seems I ordered it 5 years ago, I cant wait to have it.

I had the opportunity to see and handle 2 Wilson Combat pistols in local gun stores, I have never fired them but I could immediately see, feel and admire the engineering and machining of these handguns, it is my desire to one day acquire one. They are excellent. 🇺🇸👍

I remember throughout the 90s reading all the magazines, realizing that Wilson Combat was at the forefront of pushing the overall 1911 industry to greater heights of manufacturing and reliability.

Once in a lifetime,we all have seen you grow,and in the best ways possible!You have shown many of us in that if you like what you do,than you and your product or labor will shine thru! Everyone that has an item you sell,we know you are a big part of that item,and we can count on the fact that any weapon you create will be Wilson Perfection,a true American 🇺🇸 from the get go😊
@thegoodfooddude73954 жыл бұрын
Amazing to find out your Origins Mr.Bill Wilson, and how you founded Wilson Combat. Thank you for sharing with us. It truly is an American story too. I know where i'm ordering my next gun from......afterall Wilson Combat can you get any more American! Rather be happy and broke working on guns than making money at a job you arent happy in. Glad it all worked out so well you deserve all the success. Also the fact that you cared so much that you wanted to make reliable guns and get them shipped out fast thats a buisness model for the gun industry that all should embrace its a shame so few do, but it is that which sets you apart from your competition. No motel 6 and McDonalds for you at this point. this made me sad I own a glock not a wilson combat pistol, and that is a first for me.

Watched your maintenance video the other day on 1911s. This video just confirms that other companies don’t have a gun people. I called Smith and Wesson to ask them about the springs in my 1911 mind you this is the service department at Smith and Wesson and their reply was we don’t keep specs on the springs and we don’t know what they’re made out of. Nice that’s a lot of help, can you feel my sarcasm. Think I’ll be dealing with Wilson combat from here on out.

Got my first Wilson gun in 1987 I believe. An LE built on a 80 series colt. All metalloy. I’ve had at least one ever since. Have several now in various calibers. Compete with them and carry one every day. If you are going to trust your life to something, cost is irrelevant. I’ll carry a Wilson 1911 until I can’t run the slide.

I would really like to see a clip showing the build of a 1911 Tactical or Classic Supergrade Tactical Supergrade, Armor-Tuff, .45 ACP Stainless Steel Upgrade | Matte Bead Blast Flute Chamber Flush Cut / Reverse Crown Barrel Checker Bottom of Trigger Guard, 40 LPI Checker Front of Trigger Guard, 30 LPI Short Trigger Pad Laser Etch Wilson Combat Logo on Left Rear of Slide Grip Exchange - Cocobolo Starburst grips Nothing proprietary or trade secret wise but to see the pistol as it goes through it's steps, and then some actual firing line action with it.

Think about one thing "Only in America"! I am not a handgun guy or an AR-15 guy but I sure will buy a Glock 19 that you fellows work on for the simple reason if I am going to carry one, and learn to shoot one properly then go with what I am going to want anyway and not pick up any of the bad habits from the start. It takes a long time to fix a bad habit, I learned the hard way with my big game hunting shooting rifles bigger and heavier than what I actually needed, live and learn.

Please help me out in making an educational purchase! Which of the Wilson Combat 1911 models are the best 2-3 choices for one-handed Precision Shooting at 30-60 yards? Please be elaborate and share your opinions or experiences of what you believe would work best specifically in Precision Competition shooting, I am talking about the one-handed Olympic competitions, (not two handed center-mass competitions). I like to Pre-Thank anyone that can take the time and share their understandings of how to make the best “precise” choices :) Kind regards, Christopher

The only olympic competitions (all one-handed) are in caliber .22 lr. If you want to shoot in these kinds of competitions, get a specialized, issf-compliant .22 lr sports pistol with an ergonomic grip, like a Walther GSP or SSP. The olympic "free pistol" competition at 50 meters (55 yards) is even more specialized. They use single-loaded .22 lr pistols with extremely customized designs and grips. I have never heard of any competitions like that for larger calibers and/or one-handed competitions for 1911s. Certainly not at distances of 25 or even 50 meters.
