@708robertd - Thank you. The Bears had the opportunity to draft an elite EDGE and a solid WR later and didn't have to waste a 2025 fourth round pick. The Bears have a great secondary, solid LB's although the Bears need an upgrade for Jack Sanborn, and Montez Sweat with solid DT's and a possibly average group of RDE's. If Austin Booker becomes a 10+ sack player, Ryan Poles got lucky. He only runs a 4.79 forty, so not sure about his production in the NFL. Speed isn't a necessity but usually is a key attribute. Randolph Jr. supposedly is a great UDFA. Jamree Kromah had solid numbers but the question is if he is better at DE or DT. I liked Xavier Thomas or Mohamed Kamara as late DE possibilities. Speedy, play with intensity and passion.

The Bears upgraded at EVERY position. I don't need to talk about the WR room. The WR room. The interior offensive line - especially center. Everett > Tonyan Swift > Foreman (and I LIKED Foreman!) Byard > Jackson (of 2023) Taylor > Gill (I'm willing to say that now. Gill was no good last year.) Bates/Shelton > Patrick. Good point on the DL though. We need to shore that back up.

I wish the media 'analysts' that criticize a GM's draft picks, were forced to say who they would have picked instead that was still available in the draft. 1.1 Caleb Williams, who would they have picked instead? Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix, or JJ McCarthy? 1.9 Rome Odunze, who would they have picked instead? Olu Fashanu, Brock Bowers, Byron Murphy, or Troy Fautanu? 3.75 Kiran Amegadjie, who would they have picked instead? Jonah Ellis, Christian Haynes, Zak Zinter, or Adisa Isaac? I think a case could be made for Isaac being able to make a quicker impact on the field, but didn't have the same potential future upside impact as Amegadjie. 4.122 Tory Taylor, who would they have picked instead? Jaden Hicks, Malik Mustafa, Cade Stover, Sedrick Van Pran? An argument could probably be made for Poles next pick, Austin Booker. It's debatable though whether a possible situational contributor at edge is more valuable than a day 1 starter at punter as an upgrade to arguably the worst punter in the NFL. 5.144 Austin Booker, who would they have picked instead? Mohamed Kamara, Hunter Nourzad, Christian Jones, or Javon Solomon?

I don't see it with Braxton Jones. He had Justin running for his life. Darnell Wright is better. But I saw him single handedly end a game by blowing an assignment to get Justin sacked in the 4th qtr.

PFF had Braxton ranked 7th in the pass protection. So I'm not so sure he's how you described him.

Caleb went straight to Jordan tier status in the city of Chicago on the day of the draft. It took MJ at least a month of play in the league before he started to turn heads. Very exciting times for Chicago fans. Bears will win multiple SB's

The Arizona Cardinals clearly won the draft. The Bears wasted an opportunity to get an elite EDGE. The Bears wasted the opportunity to upgrade LB Jack Sanborn. The Bears could have traded down in any round to help their cause and chosw not to. Montez Sweat doesn't have a his RDE partner to create an elite pass rush.
