@sonnyolivercortez1087 I love it. I've been listening to jazz since I was 5, and I am truly happy that this young woman has become popular promoting a musical genre that had faded from the mainstream. By displaying her talents on social media, she is exposing jazz to a much broader and younger audience.

Just a pure jazzy beauty and relaxing magnificence with gorgeous as hell vocals from Samara Joy that I can only wish there would be more of in the mainstream these days. It's been like 20 years since Norah Jones managed to break through and nobody in jazz outside of Michael Bublé at certain points managed to smash since then, I would really love the new legit talents in jazz like Samara and Domi & JD Beck to get at least some crossover traction.

One thing no-one is talking about is that cruel summer by taylor swift will very likely re-enter the charts soon, maybe even next week. It has been rising in streams ever since the start of the Eras tour and is doing insane numbers on Spotify & Apple Music rn. I wouldn't be surprised if it charts all throughout the duration of this summer. I could see Don't Blame me debuting and August re-entering later in the year, too. The tour boost is crazy. On another note, Karma will officially be pushed as the next single from Midnights, with the video having already been recorded a couple weeks ago. I think it's a good choice but it's a shame the opportunity for Cruel Summer to be a smash hit is being wasted once again. :(

Conclusion: Taylor have a lot of work to do if she were to promote all these singles, I hoped she can manage it... Though I would like to have Cruel Summer to be a hit, as it should've been a single instead of ME! or The Man, it's a much better choice

SZA lunged towards DAVE with her katana, but DAVE, reunited with Morgan's restored body, grabbed SZA's blade with both hands. "What?" "REFLEX LEVEL OF THE VESSEL IS OPTIMAL. COMMENCING THE TEST OF COMBAT CAPABILITIES." DAVE leaped upward and did a frontflip, pulling SZA and her blade along and then released the grip from SZA's blade, tossing her far. SZA landed to a nearby forest and her blade pierced a tree. SZA, although in great pain, attempted to pull the blade out, but it was stuck. "NO WEAPONS IN DREAMLAND." DAVE walked towards SZA. "YOUR CHANCES OF ESCAPE ARE CLOSE TO NONEXISTENT. I DON'T FIND IT NECESSARY TO RECITE THE EXACT PERCENTAGE OF THE PROBABILITY OF YOUR SURVIVAL." "Recite this! I'll rescue you!" Drake jumped at DAVE, but DAVE uppercutted him to the stomach, incapacitating Drake. "I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN YOU, INDIVIDUAL NAMED AUBREY DRAKE GRAHAM. YOUR PHYSICAL PROWESS HAS DETERIORATED CONSIDERABLY. BUT YOU ARE NOT MY PRIMARY TARGET, FOR NOW." SZA continued to try pull the sword out of the tree, as DAVE approached her... *to be continued*

BOTW (All Caps): Never Felt So Alone. An incredibly beautiful and awesome track, with amazing production, gorgeous vocals from Labrinth and Billie, and fantastic lyrics. So glad this became a hit! HM (Tie): Peaches. An actual masterpiece of music from a solid movie, with great production, solid lyrics (Although, “A thousand troops of koopas couldn’t keep me from you”? Why would they? They work for you!), and Jack Black being Jack Black. I have a feeling this is going to be 2023’s We Don’t Talk About Bruno. HM (Tie): Strike (Holster). Not on the level of Let’s Start Here, but still a solid bop, with fun production, good vocals, and solid lyrics. Not bad, Lil Boat. Not bad at all. ?: Happy. So Hope the album was honestly underwhelming. I don’t know what happened, but the deepcuts did not have the raw power of those 2 initial singles. And Happy is a perfect example of this. While it is a solid track with a powerful message, it just has this generic vibe which stops it from fully having the impact it wants. Far from a bad song, but definitely could’ve been better. Also, I never noticed the AJR parallels before Mark mentioned them, but yeah I can see it. DM (Tie): El Azul. OH MY GOD I AM SICK OF THESE GENERIC SPANISH SONGS! CAN THESE PLEASE JUST STOP CHARTING?!?! DM (Tie): Careful. The worst song on HOPE, with an awful sample of Tech N9ne’s Tell Everyone, decent but unspecial NF vocals, a bland Cordae verse, and meh lyrics. What happened?! DM (Tie): WTF. The production isn’t godawful, but NBA sounds terrible, Nicki is forgettable, the lyrics are boring, and WHOSE BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO ALLOW NBA YOUNGBOY AND NICKI MINAJ TO COLLAB?! WOTW: Search And Rescue. Wow guys. Look. Drake released a boring and dull rap song that nobody asked for, about petty and insecure nonsense, that’s charting because it’s a Drake song and for literally no other reason. Look how shocked I am. This is my shocked face: 😐. Seriously, go away Drake. We’re getting sick of you.

Originally, I was under the mindset that this year was starting much better than last year, but that might not be true anymore because the charts are still stagnant as hell, and we're getting A LOT of mediocrity and outright crap as of recently, and this week of new arrivals proves that. Is it okay if I like the new Drake song because it is emotional and makes me wanna vibe out in my car? That's all, I don't care about lyrics, and I don't care if it's anything revolutionary. Also, the lil yachty song is also cute and a nice vibe. I don't like the music y'all like. I listened to the NF song and it doesn't interest me. The beat sounds like every generic trap beat with no emotion. At least Drake and Lil Yachty are coming out with different sounding beats that are emotional but at the same time sound like the future. The last time I liked something that he gave Best of the Week with "River" by Miley, and even he said he doesn't actually like that one but it was the best that week. But I know a lot of y'all like it so I'm glad. I just think it's a banger and a bop because it actually makes me wanna dance. Meanwhile, "Flowers" does nothing for me. So we have determined that I wanna listen to music that's A) Emotional, B) Sounds futuristic, and C) Makes me wanna vibe/dance in my car. I don't wanna listen to music that makes me think, I'm not taking this that seriously. People are already saying the new Post Malone song is better than "I Like You (A Happier Song)" but I liked that one better because it had a cute beat and legit made me wanna dance in my car. Is it okay to have these feelings because I am ashamed of them and I change these songs on the radio because I know people don't like them. And people like the songs I don't like.
@mr.myoozik7096 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's okay, you just like what you like, you don't need to bow down to public opinion just because the majority thinks so. Drake's song still debuted at number 2 which shows that he still has the fans who like his stuff despite what online critics say.

IDGAF about what's critically acclaimed or not, I just wanna song that makes me feel good. I'll give you an example, just the other day I was dancing to the song "LaLa" by Ashlee Simpson, that song gets me hyped. But on RYM it's got an abysmal rafting, likely due to the fact that it's Ashlee Simpson. But IDGAF who it's by, I just care about the beat and the melody. That's all I judge music by. (Then again, I would expect some in this community to like that song) But even then, we have our artists who we are biased towards or against. I don't listen to artists. Anyone could come out with a banger then a snoozer. Although I do like certain artists because they come out with the kinda music I like. I'm into the BEATS Yeat raps over, and I dance and get turnt to them. Another artist I like that has interesting beats is one called Brakence. They either are emotional or get me hyped and they sound futuristic. The thing with me is, I want music to evolve now that we're in the 2020's, I don't want music to go back to disco or synthpop, at least if it's done good, but all of these ones coming out don't have interesting melodies imo. "River" by Miley was the first I liked on a while, and it wasn't because of the disco parts, it was more about the EDM parts because I haven't heard a song sound that good in a while. Meanwhile I agree with the consensus and don't like "I'm Good (Blue)" because it sounds like a cheap sample version of "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" which I actually love! So as you can see, my taste is very particular.

@@mr.myoozik7096 it's not okay! Is there any song right now or since 2020 that the critical community liked that I also like? I won't be satisfied until I find it! Honestly I think I already did, because people actually liked "Poland", albeit not for how good it sounds, but for the meme. Also, I liked the production and melody of "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" and people say that song is amazing! Or maybe their just biased because it's Lil Nas X. People even said that was the weakest single off the album, but the other ones didn't do it for me. Not "Industry Baby" or "That's What I Want". I like songs that sound a certain way because a lot of music doesn't interest me anymore. I'm actually a 30 year old man who's been listening to music since 2005, and nothing hits like the ones released early/mid 2000's or before. I was never a fan of the "club boom" of pop from the early 2010's that y'all idolize so much, maybe a few songs like "You make Me Feel" by Cobra Starship. At this point, I just want something that sounds cutting edge and not going back to past tropes. It'sa shame that we're deep into the 2020's and we still haven't found it's stereotypical "sound" yet. I honestly don’t get the hype behind “Peaches.” There’s a much better song with that name that Bieber was on. But, besides that obligatory reference, I think “Peaches” from the new Super Mario Bros Movie (which I haven’t seen yet) is an over rated song with Jack Black’s vocals getting grating far too quickly, the lyrics feeling weak (Great, a toxic relationship being promoted between Bowser and Peach…..Oh goodie) and the music being fine but could be better. Even for a “joke” song, Jack Black has done better in that department. Jack’s proven he can bring the heat with his vocals on other songs by himself, with Tenacious D or with covers of other songs. For a song sung by a fire breathing reptile, there was little to no heat brought by the song and it left me feeling cold. Sorry.

DM: Both NF songs- I don't care about this guy, at least Muse Mints will like this, she needs NF will help to keep her from obessing on what Voice Actors say on there Twitter feed everyday. HM1: WTF- the beat actually sounds good, but the fact he needs Nicki help is sad. HM2: El Azul- Ok, this is actually ok BOTW1: Never Felt So Alone- This is very great vibe, i'm mean Billie and Finneus were involved BOTW2: Peaches- LOL, you know what. I love this, i need to see the Super Mario Bros movie. BOTW3: Striker (Holster)- I shockly like this Synth mixing, I surpisingly enjoyed this and i don't like yatchty's trap material usually.

Atp drake needs to hang it up. He hasn’t made a song worth caring about since the 3 big singles from scorpion (and even 2 of those got old quickly) and almost everything has been some mid ambient shit with at least one like meant to spark controversy/memes. With trends in music becoming slightly more interesting recently you would think that he would want to try something new or go back to his old sound but like many popular artists he just wants to coast on his usual formula 😒 Is peso pluma an industry plant? He doesn’t have a Wikipedia page and yet he has like 10 songs charting when a few months ago nobody knew who he was? (Also said songs are kinda mid, bad bunny he is not)

BEST OF THE WEEK: Peaches - Jack Black (such beautiful music… I’M NOT CRYING YOU ARE!) Honorable Mention: Careful - NF & Cordae (this kinda goes off ngl) Dishonorable Mention: El Azul - Junior H & Peso Pluma (zzzzzzzzzzzz) Worst of the Week: Search & Rescue - Drake (I feel like this song is Drake’s equivalent to the “How do you do fellow kids” meme. It’s somehow more pathetic and embarrassing than like 90% of the verses he did on “No Loss”)

BOTW: "Careful (the NF album might not be that good, but I'm glad the best songs from it that are enough to carry this week charted). HM: "Happy". DM: "Holster (Strike)" (why Lil Yachty isn't pushing anything off his psychedelic rock album instead of going back to the interchangable trap drivel, this isn't even entertainingly unfinished like "Poland", there's just nothing to it). WOTW: "Search & Rescue" (some of the sub-bass passage balancing off against the dour piano and stock trap beat might be the only redeeming thing about this because oh boy, no wonder even the Drake fans don't like this as it might not be as extremely obnoxious as a lot what's from "Her Loss", but it's no less phoned-in through and through, especially with the garbage vocal mixing that makes Drake's voice sound completely identical to the AI of his voice).

In that comment, I said that I like Dinosaur Park a lot for reasons that may be because of South Dakota bias. Another highlight in that album was My Muse. It's such lovely and nice love song. It's kinda like a non-depressed version of Silhouette in a way. Not only is it starting to surpass Dinosaur Park as my favorite song on the album, but it might even be one of Owl City's best. TEN remixes? What the heck? At least there's just on remix of "Kill Bill" (I think). I hate when are artists pump out a bunch of remixes to get a number one. I'm a Swiftie, but I didn't like it when she did that with "Willow" and "Anti-Hero." I'm glad she blocked Drake with the latter, but still.

I'd say that new Drake song sounds AI generated...but there already was AI generated Drake and The Weeknd song recently, and yet real Drake's songs sounds like less effort was put into it, go figure. Not a fan of new NF songs (or any NF songs)either, and while I'm happy for people who love Peaches, maybe it works better in Mario movie context, but I really do not like this song sadly 🤣 Oh well, I never liked other Jack Black stuff that has to do with music either(like his work in Tenacious D), so call it consistency ig.

The most interesting music-related thing with the Mario movie is that if I had a nickel for every time Take on Me, one of my top three favorite songs of all time, showed up in a movie that's connected with two of my other ten favorite things that I have cherised since I was a kid, I'd have two nickels (The Super Mario Bros. Movie/The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run). Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Right?
