Also this week somehow Hey Look Ma, I Made It dropped off the Hot Rock Songs chart completely, after being top 2-3 for most of its 80 week run. High Hopes is still 2nd on its 100th week on the chart so maybe it'll vanish someday soon.

I will say I was genuinely surprised at how different "Level of Concern" was given the sound of that last Twenty One Pilots album but yeah "Level of Concern" works well as a charity single. Thrilled to see "Blinding Lights" retake the top spot on the Hot 100. We need to find out Post Malone's secrets to keeping songs in the top 10 for over six months because at this point, it's crazy. Next week: the DaBaby album bomb, the new Sam Smith and Demi Lovato collab (the rollout for Sam's new album is a mess thanks to COVID-19), Morgan Wallen, maybe even something from Kygo. Next week could be quite busy regardless of the DaBaby album bomb. Expect a boost for "I Hope" by Gabby Barrett as it got a remix with Charlie Puth (the remix is terrible and makes the song considerably worse) Oh and there's another album bomb in the pipeline, Young Boy NBA has a new project coming.

Boss Bitch: After Say So has soured on me over time, I'm glad there's a song I actually like from her in the Hot 100. 7/10 Girl Of My Dreams: Not his best song, but it's fine. 6/10 Ride It: It reminds me of some solid 2015 EDM like the Robin Schulz remix of Waves. Best: "Boss Bitch" by Doja Cat - My biggest problem with Doja's Hot Pink album (the one with "Say So", "Cyber Sex" and the Tyga version of "Juicy" on it) was that it tended to strip away what made Doja Cat so interesting as a performer - a lot of her personality was swapped out for decent albeit not very interesting crooning. So when she basically makes a 2020 update of "Pound the Alarm" that swaps out an insta-dated drop for something that almost reminds me of "DEATHCAMP" by Tyler, The Creator of all things thanks to the cowbell tinges around the edge of the instrumental...yeah, I'm fully on board! Honorable Mention: "Level of Concern" by twenty øne piløts - high quality quarantine jams 3. "Die from a Broken Heart" by Maddie and Tae 4. "Ride It" by Regard 5. "Stupid Again" by Tory Lanez - I feel like this was recorded with the wrong kind of microphone. 6. "DND" by Polo G 7. "In Between" by Scotty McCreery 8. "Broke in a Minute" by Tory Lanez 9. Dishonorable Mention: "Sigues con Él" by Arcángel, Sech & Dimelo Flow Worst: "Boyfriend" by Selena Gomez - If any song illustrates why Selena Gomez is a total hack, it's this one - a completely passionless delivery that doesn't even try to match the content (at least in the context of a song like "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored", there's a titular justification as to why Ariana sounds bored), a beat that has no pulse, and Julia Michaels' co-writing that feels less bad and more flavorless in its submissiveness than anything else.

Definitely Ride It. With Roses, it took a dark sounding trap rap song and made it sound like a dance song by pitch shifting the vocals up, which makes it sound awkward once you hear the original version. Meanwhile, with Ride It, we have a song that sounded alright initially getting a second wind of light, and the beatwork sounds live and electric to match with the sultry lyrics Jay Sean had.

Next week should be busier with exits - but not necessarily because of DaBaby. Ridin' Roads and Tusa reached 20 weeks and will be gone naturally, and Taylor Swift pulled The Man from radio so that song should fall off since radio is all it had. The only songs I can see DaBaby taking off due to him are Suicidal, which seems to be dying off for good any way, and No Guidance if the album bomb actually impacts the Top 40 enough to finally can it. It's at #40 - same place Ride by Twenty One Pilots and 7 Rings were at before album bombs punched them out.
