I can understand that sentiment, in fairness. (After all, that's probably why I was more surprised by iShyne working for me than anything else there.) LegendBTV I'm not sure if pop will come back to take the top. Hip hop and rap are so heavily streamed. Sometimes it's a good thing (Drake's huge numbers are the only thing keeping "Meant to Be" off of number #1, which is a huge plus) and sometimes it's a bad thing ("rockstar" keeping "Havana" off of number #1 for so long (even though I enjoy both, it took too long to hit #1). If more people stream pop songs, then pop would be in a better position.

2018 is quickly becoming the worst year for billboard 100 of this decade and probably ever. This top 10 for the most part sucks besides Nice for What. pretty much the worst I ever seen each week it keeps getting worst each week for while now. Next week Ari will change that for sure, i really like her new song. Not looking for the j cole album bomb next week looks like the whole album will go top 30 and 2-3 songs for top 10, only good thing about it, it will remove a few more old songs that been hanging in the 30s and 40s for awhile now. most of these trap rap songs today all sound the same. And the pop songs that are big this year for the most part suck as well.

Pretty surprising how all entries from Cardi B are still sticking around, since most of the time the majority album tracks directly drop out after the debut week. But since Cardi's album numbers are still huge it had to beexpected. But hopefully we won't have both Cardi's and J. Cole's full albums in the Hot 100 because it would be just too much. This week "Let Me" by Zayn is my favorite, it has some great production and sounds a lot like summer. Same goes for "Guatemala" which of course is an obvious copy of "Unforgettable" but since it features Slim Jxmmi instead of French Montana, it's automatically better, at least for me.

"Cry Pretty" by Carrie Underwood is decent at best. Due to the melody and refrain, the song reminds me of a country song back in the early 2010s that usually got tons of airplay. A tune that is almost identical to the likes of Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift when she was creating tracks in the "Speak Now" era. I could give two shits about the rest of the week, though.

Crazy Luigi Yeah, when it came to crunk, at least most of the rappers had a flow that correlated with the production, were distinguishable from each other when it came to rapping, and weren't portrayed as ostentatious. Plus to collaborate with the beats and bombastic production, they added instrumentation for the background, as well. For instance, in Three Six Mafia's single, "Stay Fly", they added bongos to make the song have a feel while still maintaining the Southern rap vibe.

Crazy Luigi What I was saying was that another trend came long after crunk lost popularity among the late 2000's/early 2010's youth, and that was "crunkcore". A trend that is merely identical to that of Soundcloud rap and trap, but mostly originated from the now defunct website, MySpace and featured bands that were considered scene kids with fringe haircuts. In my eyes, it was mostly seen as imagining a 2008 scene kid you'd see dropping cringeworthy lyrics in a high school cypher.

On "Gotti", 6ix9ine sounds like Akon when his voice is layered with autotune. I have to admit, the background synths and production sort of sound like they were sampled from an R&B/rap single you would fine in a 2007 album by Akon himself. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's...meh. And can we talk about how half of the music video is a WorldStarHipHop version of "God's Plan"? Edit: All I need is for 6ix9ine's voice to be replaced with Akon's vocals for me to be sold on the single.

Yeah, I'm not surprised that God's Plan is still going strong on KZbin. Why the hell did Freaky Friday rise one spot this week? I thought its appeal has worn off at this point. Seeing that the Chun-Li that Nicki Minaj is referencing in the titular song is Chinese.... gave me flashbacks to that Rake It Up verse. Eh, at least we have Sad out of the top 20. Thank God for that. On the other hand, Whatever It Takes is officially in the top 20.Yaay! And I'm also grateful for getting an explanation regarding the rises for country songs this week. The hell is with 6ix9ine's songs? Do we get one for each leaving? Ah, it bothers me that Guatemala is not credited to Rae Sremmurd in spite of both members contributing. It sort of gives me flashbacks to the listing of one of the credited artists on Calvin Harris' Under Control, though the situation was slightly different there. The video for that Lil Pump song is trending in my country. I don't get the guy's appeal. So next week we'll probably have J. Cole and Ariana Grande. Does anybody know what are the chances of having returning songs from Avicii too, given his untimely passing?

For 6ix9ine, the only reasons why he got that song up was because it was on a re-release of his Day69 mixtape, with this update basically being the Gotti song for "Graduation Day." Also, the music video is the reason why it got the rise it did, if only because of his second half on him giving out $100 bills to families in the Dominican Republic. As for Avicii, I know Wake Me Up's chances are pretty high. Not quite sure about the rest of his hit songs in question, though. Sorry.

Crazy Luigi Wake Me Up will come back and pretty high. I’m hoping for at least top 20 or 30 but for his others, I’d put money on Levels coming back as well as potentially Hey Brother. As for if any songs will chart for the first time, I’m expecting Without You the most if I had to choose one. Waiting For Love and The Nights are also super great chances especially since most Avicii tributes posted on socials have the latter’s lyric “One day you’ll leave this world behind so live a life you will remember”
