If you watch a lot of her interviews, she does write songs from the perspective of a character. You nailed it on the head with that!

When I first heard this song it made me realize it's almost impossible to stamp a particular genre of music on her. This has elements of so many genres, and yet also unlike anything else she's done. I absolutely love her.

Their genre is simply...Latin, Trap, Church Hymns, Cabaret, Show Tunes, Sinatra, Rock, Billy Holiday, Jazz, Alt Rock, Pop, electro DM and crooner...that's all! 😉

What I love about your reactions is that you’re not stopping and starting the video all the time! You’re actually listening to the song!!

Thank you Louise! I really do my best to listen intently and try to pick up what the content is. It can be tough as her songs get very deep. I'm really loving her stuff! Thanks again :)

Sorry for posting this long comment but many people (3) told me it helped them discover more about this song and Billie so... In this song Bellyache the first seen shows Billie sitting on the side of the road and if you look closer in the back ground you will see a shovel in a pile of dirt... that's were she retrieved money, after she killed her friends ☠ If you listen real close, Billie uses the words MINE, MY, MIND, & "I DON'T MIND" (now stay with me... ) You'll hear the D in the very first words cut off Which turns 🎶mind into 🎶MINE or My Then in the 1st chorus she sings 🎶where's my MINE ?!...🎶 as in... "where's what's owed to me" (typical psychopath phase) Also giving reference to a play on the phase "my MINDS in the gutter", & the phase "Windmills of my MIND" YES there are Windmills in the background of the video!!! Billie's GENUIS is amazing she's the real deal... the cop at the end does not stand a chance 🔪☠🤪

It took me forever to see that shovel! The way she ends those lines sometimes with "mine" and sometimes with "mind" is really interesting.

Stinger Smith , your observation of the shovel and words are mind blowing how you paid such great attention to small details. I enjoyed reading your post. Well done. Great interpretation of the song.

You nailed it again....she robbed a bank with her friends and killed them all. Fictitious is right!! This is the first song she and Finneas wrote together 50/50! All her vision for the video!

Nailed it. It's crazy how she was 13-14 at most when she wrote it.

Also u might dig Melanie Martinez. She has a video for every song on both her albums. They are all connected and tell one long story. They are all dark children’s lullabies. But all cut deep! Rabbit whole for sure!

After watching your reaction I wondered if you were so hypnotized that you forgot to pause because of copyright claims - so I went back and watched it again, and I was right 😂🙂

I think you nailed it, I never connected the dots about the money in the video but what you said makes sense. She is singing in a character who killed her friends though. Like I've said before - I recommend Bitches Broken Hearts, When I was older, my strange addiction, bored, and hostage. :)

Nice one - again! 😉👍 Everything, literally every piece of music by Billie Eilish is worth listening - I think, she and Finneas are musical geniuses. ☺️ Hence, it doesn't really matter, which would be your next reaction to her music, because you just mustn't stop before you've listened/seen all there is to listen/see! 😁 What about this one next: "When I was older" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnqXl3dqbqyVmc0 (aka "the autotune song" 😁) At first, I kinda wasn't sure of how I much I liked it, but now I love that song, especially how it's building up. And the vocal effect in question really fits in - I'm not quite sure though, if it's really autotune or rather a vocoder, but never mind... 😜 Another suggestion: "Come out and play" kzbin.info/www/bejne/romplaF-nqyqpdU Such a beautiful, heartwarming song - one of my favorites, I love it! ❤️

I would highly suggest that you do a reaction to Billies song “ILOMILO” and “MY STRANG ADDICTION”. Both are very good songs and since you are really good at interpreting some of her songs , it would be great to hear your take on it.

hey great vid!! react to hostage by billie!! Its my favorite, so calming and the whole atheistic of the video is so amazing

You should react to Jessie Reyez. Billie had her opening to her U.S. tour till the virus. Jessie is gonna be huge. She has a few songs with Eminem. She’s dark and honest. React to Shutter Island, Gatekeeper, or Crazy. Crazy is a cover of Patsy Cline don’t know if u know her she’s from like the 50s. All her videos are deep and dark.

You should react to the Youngblood Chronicles by Fall Out Boy. It's a full album, but each song is connected by the music video. They have a longform video that is 50 minutes, as well as an individual video for each song if you wanted to react to each one separately.
