Yeah I did see a wireless mic receiver attached to her right hips. You can clearly see it on 8:42 - 8:44 of the video. I know that wireless reciever it's not the actual mic that she's has in her hands because the house mixer board that controls that mic.
@jesperharrison74443 жыл бұрын
the reason why she held the mic so far away from her mouth when singing the last notes at the end is that the "gain" on the mic is set extremely high. the way she usually sings is very soft so the mic needs to be turned up quite a bit to catch her sound.
@rcl84643 жыл бұрын
@@KevinPlaysGuitar that's for her in ear monitors. If the stage is quiet, you don't need another mic to pic up that soft sound. They're using electric drums even.

Well, it's clearly not "100%" live. I guarantee you there's a ton of post-processing. I swear "live" videos have gotten so polished that people have forgotten what actual live music sounds like. Even the best musicians to ever live wouldn't sound like this live. I'm not saying they didn't do a performance in this setting but tons of mixing and editing were done to the tracks beyond mere level balancing.

From my understanding the mic was a prop. The pack that drops off at the end that Finneas points at and the cord is from the mic.

You should watch her live proformance on the Grammys last year for when the party's over, and her Brits proformance of No Time To Die.

Great reaction! I love the bridge in this song how it dramatically changes from slow to alternative rock and also the emotions of her voice changes. 🤘😀

Why do people keep calling it a bridge? If anything it's more of an outro or coda.

When 5 Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves won the year before, Billie took over the next. It took me awhile to get over the star struckness with Kacey. And then, Billie start to hit me with her deep lyrics. Kacey is my country music Avenue taste. But, Billie leaves me to remembering the days when I listen to Paramore or evanescence.

«Sometimes I’m here for a good slide» haha same! And it’s refreshing to hear Billie be a bit louder (with her “spreader” mouth hahaha) 🙌 I was confused by her distance to the mic towards the end too though.

Yeah, makes a lovely change! And yes! I think she did have an actual working mic attached to her shirt 😁

Live performances are great for reacting to, but I wish you would watch the official video released when the album was released. It takes her story telling and the emotional impact to the next level. And at the end, wait for the credit "Directed by Billie Eilish". Her brother, Finneas is her co-writer on many songs, her producer, and performs on guitar and keyboards (like this performance) and on tour. But Billie has the creative vision for her performances and videos. What an awesome creative team they make.

Yes, I do understand this. I did mentioned that I had watched the music video already, I’ve just found with reacting to them comes a lot more copyright issues and blocking is more likely - hence why I try to stick to live vocals. Which I also think is better to analyse vocally because it’s (hopefully) happening right there and live 😊

Everyone questions whether she is live in this version, all you have to listen to is 8"09 when she sings "all that you did was make me fucking sad" when she slaps her chest, you quite clearly hear the hits! I definitely believe that there is a mic on her shirt and the sound guys did their best to alter the volume as she moved her handheld mic but you can't predict singers movements 100%. Love this performance and analysis! :)
@Laroac2 жыл бұрын
I know it's live because it sound different than in other performances and studio version, but I honestly think the hits at 8:09 come from the drum

The drums, the one guitar and the lead vocal are live, everything else is on tape. What intrigues me is how they stay in time with the tape so well. Perhaps a click track in the earphones?
Please try to react to Lucy Thomas. You can start with Hallelujah and or Memory ... She is a beautiful singer of Amira's generation. Thank you ...

the complexity of her live performances involves massive backing tracks & computers and mixing. I believe the lead vocal & the drums and Finneas on the guitars was live. but who knows. This was Billie sending in the performance as she has during the covid era so they worked on it for sure. From day one she has had an entire team that works on her live stuff whether it is a one off or when she is on tour. It is what it is. This particular version i thought was superior to the album track A live performance these days is not what it was especially with a modern day pop queen like Billie
