Reasons for using petrol bike: Durable Easy to manage Covered long distance Resale
@amarvelsciencetech573Күн бұрын
Unfortunately, I have not considered buying EV bike as they lack in horse power. In rural areas, the road infrastructure is pretty annoying. For various areas, there are mud roads ( not pavot raods) . To go through muds , dusty roads , ( especially in rainy season when unpavoted roads become slums of mud ) we need strong bikes ( with more horse power ) to get through them. On the other hand , EVs are pretty delicate and work well in urban areas . Their small sized wheel cannot even bear the pit-holes and jumps of rural areas . Third major factor is load - shedding . Which is again relatively more in rural areas. If you are unfortunate enough that transformer of your area is damaged ( which frequently occurs in summers ) , your EV will become useless for atleast one week as repairing and fitting back of transformers in one week is considered the fastest in rural areas ( with the slowest being 1 month ) Fourthly , in our middle class families , bike is the main locomotion vehicle on which they usually carry 3 to 4 members of family. But due to small seats and less power , EVs can't replace our dream bikes that can easily carry 3 to 4 persons.
@MuhammadAbdullah-313Күн бұрын
Yes as a middle class I agree with you that we need something that has high power and can carry more people also while in a low cost and there is no such option availible for us, as i live in Karachi the roads also arent made for the small EV beauty.

Brilliant insights as always, Junaid! As someone who was deeply involved in designing and manufacturing Electric 2 and 3-wheelers in Pakistan through my company, EMF Technologies, I completely agree that the EV industry holds immense potential to revolutionize Pakistan's energy landscape. We paused our operations a few years back, but my vision remains steadfast: locally produced EVs could drastically reduce fuel bills and alleviate energy demand pressures if supported by innovative policies and a robust local supply chain. Would love to connect and share ideas on how we can collaboratively drive this transformation forward!

Reasons to not to switch over e-bike: 1) petrol bikes are cheaper specially a very good condition second hand 2) battery replacement cost is high 3) p-bike (petrol bike) resale price is good 4) e-bike milage and efficient battery life is far less than claimed by the manufacturers 5) e-bike load carrying cap. is low 6) shortage of charging stations or battery swapping facility which consequently increases uncertainty in commuting
@PakistanAndCountingКүн бұрын
You’ve raised some valid concerns about e-bikes, and it’s true that these challenges can make people hesitant to switch. However, as technology advances, we’re seeing improvements in battery efficiency, load capacity, and infrastructure like charging stations. While initial costs may seem higher, e-bikes often have lower running costs and maintenance in the long term. Plus, they help reduce environmental impact. Addressing these issues will be crucial for wider adoption. Let’s hope the industry evolves to make e-bikes more accessible and practical for everyone!

One point missed is lack of technical support. One of my friend bought the most popular ev bike for his home worker. He faced issues because parts are not available except for actual vendor and he often takes time to arrange for parts because he didn't have stock available and he had to import which took time.

Aapka point bohot logical hai. Bijli ko sasta aur gas ko mehnga karna, aur gas ko power plants ke liye prioritize karna ek acha strategy ho sakti hai. Is tarah se not only electricity production efficient hogi, but Pakistan ko imported fuel par reliance kam karne ka moka milega, jo billion of dollars ki bachat mein madadgar hoga. Lekin is approach ke liye proper planning aur implementation zaruri hai takay industries aur households dono ko balance kiya ja sake. Aapki baat sochne layak hai!

Cannot demand be created from industries or business as well ?? Provide cheap electricity to export industry to make them more competent
@PakistanAndCountingКүн бұрын
That’s an excellent point! Industries and businesses, especially export-oriented ones, can indeed play a major role in creating demand for cheaper and cleaner electricity. By providing affordable electricity to industries, the government can help them reduce production costs, making them more competitive in global markets. Additionally, incentivizing industries to adopt renewable energy sources and electrified equipment could accelerate the shift toward sustainable energy solutions. This dual approach would not only benefit businesses but also support overall economic growth and reduce dependency on expensive fossil fuels. It’s a strategy worth serious consideration!

Aapka idea interesting hai, aur gasoline bike ko electric mai convert karna ek acha option ho sakta hai agar sahi resources mil jayein. Filhal Pakistan mein retrofitting services aur parts ka infrastructure limited hai, isliye online reliable platforms dhundhna thoda mushkil hai. Lekin aap international platforms jaise Alibaba ya Amazon pe electric conversion kits search kar sakte hain. Local market ke liye, kisi trusted mechanic ya workshop se mashwara lena zaruri hoga jo retrofitting ka kaam samajhta ho. Agar koi specific platform ya workshop samney aayi, zaroor share karenge. Best of luck!

There are multiple points where your analysis is wrong as you are not using the right numbers as the base. For example, there is no considerable electric bike available in the market for 170,000 rupees let along a good quality. I am a supporter of EV but a 170k petrol CD 70 is offering a mature bike which you can't compete with 170k worth of electric scooter available in the market. The nearest solution available is Revoo electric scooter for 210,000 and even that scooter can't achieve over 80km of range on moderate speed. The max speed it offers is 60 km/h. The built quality is extremely low and the whole package is offered with outdated graphene batteries for cost cutting that can hardly last 1.5 years.
@VukaasibКүн бұрын
max speed, pick and comfort is most probably not comparable to suzuki or yamaha bikes. 50-75 is normally bike speed in city plus if you live outside city and trying to replace car in some scenarios then obviously better speed and comfort than electric bike will be important thing. Also E-Bikes are comparatively expensive than value it is providing for now.
@PakistanAndCountingКүн бұрын
You’ve highlighted some important points. Speed, pick, and comfort are definitely critical factors, especially for those accustomed to brands like Suzuki or Yamaha. For city commuting, e-bikes might work for slower speeds, but for those living outside cities or replacing a car in some scenarios, higher speed and comfort are key considerations. Additionally, the current price of e-bikes compared to the value they provide is a valid concern. Until these factors improve, e-bikes may not appeal to everyone. These are crucial aspects manufacturers need to address for wider adoption.

E-Bikes are still unaffordable because the kind of people who tries to save money are those who are low income that they cannot afford new bike. They usually buy used bikes which are available at almost at half the price of original. And who can buy new bikes are those for whom this saving doesn't matter, therefore they go for Conventional petrol Bikes usually because bike is not there need , it's just their routine to buy new bike each year. I think this is reason. Actually people want to buy but there the old e-bikes are not available in market
@PakistanAndCountingКүн бұрын
You’ve made a solid point. The affordability gap is a major issue when it comes to e-bikes. People with lower incomes who are looking to save money usually rely on used bikes because they’re much cheaper. On the other hand, those who can afford new bikes often prioritize convenience or other preferences and stick with petrol bikes. The lack of a second-hand market for e-bikes further adds to the problem. If older e-bikes were available at reasonable prices, it could open up the market for more people. Manufacturers and policymakers should consider this gap to make e-bikes more accessible to a wider audience. Your observation highlights an important aspect of this challenge!

Aapka point valid hai, aur bohot log isi tarah sochte hain. Petrol bikes ki power aur affordability logon ke liye bada factor hota hai, especially agar ek bike already available ho. Lekin agar long-term benefits dekhein, jaise fuel ki bachat aur kam maintenance cost, toh e-bikes kaafi faydemand ho sakti hain. Haan, initial cost aur power ka masla hai, lekin technology improve ho rahi hai aur yeh issues dheere dheere solve ho rahe hain. Shayed kuch arsay baad yeh investment worth lagne lage!

Assalam O Alaikum Junaid Bhai, Mashallah Nice video and about the question you asked yes I am always thinking about Buying one but due to tight budget and the price hike i am not able to buy it also I have a qestion that in a time period where we are like the middle class is in terrible situation with their electricity bill and those are more then their own house rents and they cant also afford to buy Solar Panels , what would be your opinion on how should we do it and while remaining in a good economic budget they can change from Gas to Electric? Also the EV prices have been on a hike for some time like one average bike is about 2 lakhs or 2.5 lakhs then there is no company which is providing at a cost where a middle class would think about buying one still even if it would pay back but there are some problem with the middle class at this point If you can kindly reply about this It would be really helpfull.
@PakistanAndCountingКүн бұрын
Your point is spot on! Export-oriented industries can drive the demand for cleaner and cheaper electricity while boosting Pakistan’s global competitiveness. By offering subsidized electricity rates or tax benefits to such industries, the government can lower production costs and create a ripple effect of economic growth. Encouraging industries to transition to renewable energy and electrified machinery would further enhance sustainability. This strategy could not only reduce reliance on fossil fuels but also attract green investments and position Pakistan as a forward-thinking economy. It’s a win-win solution that needs immediate attention!
