Bills vs. Texans preview: Josh Allen & C.J. Stroud face off + Both teams facing injury problems

Bills D tackles don't scare anybody. Ed produces sometimes against backups, Dequan doesn't seem like himself after the peck injury.They need to use some of the draft capital they've saved up and get a Chris Jones type.

I’m hesitant to say this but I’m more concerned about Damar Hamlin than Cole Bishop. He’s got the best reason ever to be hesitant or play soft, which I thought he did against the Ravens. He’s very light for a safety and I think he should have put on some muscle for the position. Jordan Poyer rocked up when he came to Buffalo. Jamarcus Ingram put on 27 lbs of lean muscle per the coaches to play CB. Damar looks just as light as he was when drafted. I’d love to see Mike Edwards or Lewis Cine. Lewis Cine would be lighting up their WRs. He’s the hardest hitting safety I’ve seen coming out of college since Lynch. If Cine blitzes, they may be onto their 2nd QB. Damar may be the nicest guy in the NFL. He’s an incredible story and he’s brave to be back out there. Just think the team needs more physical players and he didn’t put in the work to become that. I thought he made some business decisions in the last game too.

If Johnson is out how about Elam one on one with Diggs since he consistently aggravated him in training camp. Otherwise they exploit Lewis.

You don’t add even more changes. This team is devastated by injuries. If They will don’t pressure stroud , he will pick them apart easily. This is a bad time for this matchup imo. Your all pro players are all missing. The middle seam and deep areas will be exploited as these safeties are too inexperienced. If Shakir is out too, Samuel has not been used well, unless this team can do long possessions to keep it away from stroud , he will kill buffalo w his accuracy. I hate saying this but it’s a lack of talent now for bills that will doom them on the road. That ravens game was terrible coaching wise , and honestly , I think Mcd is in trouble because too many holes You can’t repeat last week , if no qb pressure , the receiving corps of Texas is better. I still believe there is concern over the rehabbing but more so training of our players. Too many soft tissue injuries at overuse areas like pecs , hamstrings. Players are showing up injured almost every week w a practice injury. Allen being great , getting 1-2 turnovers is our best chance to win.

True all 22 guys that follow the team have Bills winning this game. We’ll see. This is going to be a Josh Allen game but…. at the same time before the Ravens game the two games of concern with Miami’s speed and Jacksonville’s history versus the Bills we thought Josh Allen would have to be Superman but Babich/Mcdermott defense showed up. Even with 6 players out that are at pro bowl or all pro level recently, I feel confident the Bills will win this one. It might be another blow out game. The Texans haven’t beaten anyone this year or last. They had an incredibly easy schedule. On paper, they’re a loaded team but that has to be validated. The Bills beat the best teams during the regular season before the defense (and Stephon) failed to show up in the playoffs. The Bills tend to lose to bottom tier teams more than the best ones in season.

Just a thought on Stingly, he’s awesome but we don’t have a dude that he can neutralize. A guy like that is going to be a very high salary once he gets his 2nd contract but the everyone eats design nullifies that. Besides, I believe he stays on the left side. Joe can scheme that match up and lead him away from the ball.

Well let's see...they dominate the middle of the field with 4 great receiving targets. We are down 4 of the starting back 7, and our best pass rushers from the edge and up the middle. And we're down our only receiving threat with consistent separation who's Allen's most reliable target.

Bills are a running team now, and Texans are susceptible to that (this also allows you Keep HOU O on the sideline). Rapp? Cmon. I lose more sleep over Cam Lewis' inclusion than Rapp's absence. And hey, the Bills get their captain back on D (ho hum i guess). Texans strengths/style tends to play into the strengths of Bills (see the term "matchup"). Doesn't mean they can't win, but I wouldn't bet on it even with the injuries. You call it rose colored glasses, I call it ACTUALLY WATCHING BOTH TEAMS PLAY FOOTBALL. Cheers Randy.

Allen has been terrible hitting deep balls . Not all his fault. But you need to keep ball away from stroud who is very accurate and will pick apart this back 4 esp. with time. And he can scramble. Bills are in trouble on d. Line play is bad , rest of d except two border cbs , are inexperienced and will blow coverages. Looks bad to me.

Guys- why would we expect this? Let’s not be negative. Think we match up well? Maybe I’m wrong. We don’t have Ed but they don’t have Mixon. Their strength is passing and ours is pass defense. 🤷🏿‍♂️ I think Stroud is a good QB but I take Allen over him any day. I think it’s close game.
