Venting your roof is a good idea. However, I would not use the vents that spin. The bearings will eventually wear out and start to squeal. I learned that the hard way. I now have vents that don’t move. Make sure they have a screen or wasps will infiltrate and set up shop in your attic.

So there was sarking under the tiles I've cut a square hole through it to let the hot air up to the whirlybird. Will I need to go back up there and install a vent pipe that goes through the sarking? 8 to 10 degrees temperature drop in the attic with fiberglass insulation lining and metal galvanized metal roof as long as you can keep your fiberglass insulation lining away from the soffit vents , and don't cover it up the Whirylbird fan in the winter they prevent mold and mildew in the winter . the cons-causes air pressure in the ceiling causing the ceiling to bow in some cases making the ceiling collapse from the timber frame causing a huge outer pocket for house owners like me. had to replace my garage ceiling as I had no insulation so it collapse, as for the rest of the house all rooms have insulation so ceilings are bowed.i found two things that will fix this.1 DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY & INSTALLING .2-if you bought it already and installed it remove the manhole cover let air escape oh and good luck

Did yours come with any type of screen to keep insects and other critters out? I'm wondering if they normally do, because I've found live birds in my attic a few years ago. I was able to get them out. But now I've seen nasty cockroaches in my attic. Exterminator told me that type of cockroach lives in trees🤮. It may not constantly power a house but the fact is batteries store energy so why not use a turbine to store that energy if it is already there to me that is a better thought to a common problem. Obviously wind turbines already exists so wouldn't call that not using your brain these inventions exist because they obviously work lol. You can't be so limited on the way you think. Where I live we do not even use pge because we have a damn that provides a whole town power and we never face power outages. I do not feel others should have to either. It is a complete waste for us to not use what is around us and already there to help provide energy we need to power homes and businesses. There are turbines that actually work in water along rivers all they need is constant movement to create power and non constant movement can always be stored in batteries for later use. I feel living next to the Sacramento river why are we not using this all along the river to provide energy to so many without power or prolonged power outages. The fact is the reason why nothing changes is because of limited thinking.
