The Lakers would 100% be a trainwreck to be a gm. Super high expectations in LA. Aging superstars. Zero draft capital, lackluster bench…. I’d 100% consider trading Bron, but we know they won’t. Thats the only way they can get back some semblance of immediate assets.

No 1st Rnd pick of our own next year so unless the Giannis gets hurt we’ll have the Bucks pick next year at the end of the 1st Rnd. Unless we hit on Shaedon Sharpe AND get the biggest baller of an owner, we are up a pretty crappy creek and a paddle that’s falling apart. Gotta focus on building the best 3 & D/Playoff scoring young core like Booker-Ayton-Bridges-Cam Johnson that CP3 made a great run with late in his career and hopefully Dame + young core of like Sharpe-Simons-Nassir Little-One More can be a higher ceiling of what Phoenix has been the past two years. In his 3 drafts he has gotten Rui, Deni and Kispert, and while they aren't superstars, they aren't busts either. He turned John Wall's terrible contract into Westbrook and then turned Westbrook into Kuzma and KCP. If everyone is healthy, the starting 5 of Beal, Porzingus, Kuzma with either Rui/Deni and either KCP/Kispert with the other 2 coming off the bench, plus Gifford as a back up center. But if I walk into those franchises and get free reign to do what I want, there's a path there where I can let Beal and Porzingis walk, trade Dame and if i'm the Kings then stay patient and develop my young guys. The Lakers are the worse destination by a mile if I get free reign over a franchise. Even if i'm the smartest person in the room, there's no maneuverability for me to get better and there's no incentive to get worse because I don't own my own picks. It's a total mess. @@Anonymous-py7ix interested that will give you stuff or interested that they'll give you bad contracts and picks in 2025-27? LA will give you Russ and two firsts. Philly will give you Tobias (signed through 2024) and probably Maxey for Mitchell but probably not Dame. Dallas will give you Jalen Brunson for Dame/Mitchell or floatsam and picks for Rudy. Toronto will give you OG and either Trent or floatsam. Clippers Reggie Jackson and Norm Powell. Best case is RJ for Mitchell if NY would even do that. You can have Julius Randle signed through 2026. The point is you you HAVE to blow it up. There's very little path forward. You have almost no young players, you will never sign a free agent and you don't have anyone to build around if you trade your stars. Your entire strategy is hoping you get the #1 pick next year so you can draft Victor Wembanyama. Basically the best case scenario is getting back Duncan Robinson and Markieff Morris (on a bogus $20m contract you can buy out later) or Tim Hardaway and Davis Bertans so you are actually bad next year. And Utah would need to trade 4 guys basically cause if they keep Conley and Bogey they would win too many games. And btw even if you lose 82 games you have like a 15% chance at the #1 pick. Neither of those teams has a future right now

The point is you can't. If the owners want to keep Lillard, you're turn between rebuild and win now. That's brutal.

1) sacramento. It's too close to San Francisco. They need to move to Seattle 2)Orlando. It's not a destination at all and they have no track record of success outside of the 2 times they drafted the most dominating big of their Era 3) Knicks. Has a coaching delimma. Has a star delimma. Has a crazy fan base with exceptionally high expectations and no plan of getting better 4) Chicago. A lot of good players. Not a title team. Is Zach a max player. Is Derozen a real superstar. I don't know if theirs a path to take them from good to great. 5)Atlanta. I'm an Atlanta fan. They worry me bc I'm still not sure how good Trae can be. Also how do you build around him

I'm living in Utah now, this isn't a particularly fantastic state to live in. Religion is a HUGE influence and most of the state is extremely Republican. Players who are not white could experience some racism and prejudice. The weather is horrible because it could hail, rain, and be scorching hot all in one day. We haven't gotten good rain/snow winters in years. The depression and suicide rates are one of the highest in the country. The governor is more concerned with fighting porn than anything else. Alcohol can only be bought at state liquor stores and they close early as well as bars.

Clippers? They literally have no bad contracts at the moment, one of the best owners in the league who's willing to pay tax, a top 5 coach, and a great FA location. Yeah, the pick situation is not good, but they have all the assets to contend for the next 3-4 years. They've got easily the best collection of 2D wings in the NBA, can afford to use Kawhi sparingly in the regular season, and go full throttle in the playoffs.
@FindingTheNarrative2 жыл бұрын
@@redbone_5259 no offense brother. You must be a fan though. They have used up every pick for a decade and aren't close to contention. They can trade Kwahi and Paul on 50% value, but what's the point? Honestly, they might be the 6th best team in the league fully healthy, but that'll never happen.
@michaelahurt2 жыл бұрын
@@FindingTheNarrative If Kawhi doesn't get hurt they are very likely in the Finals against Milwaukee last year. When you have third best Vegas odds two years in a row and a bunch of journalists picking you to win the title you are a contender. Would "I* pick them as the favorite? No. I don't trust them. But they do have a legit chance at winning a title when they have both Kawhi and PG.
@FindingTheNarrative2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelahurt how do you get better? GS, The Bucks, Boston, and the Suns are better than they are fully healthy. I would say Memphis, Dallas, Philly, Brooklyn, and the Heat are in the same tier. Plus you have so many young teams getting better. A wealthy owner who wants results, a fan base with to high of expectations, no assets and stars who want maximum salaries who haven't produced. Vegas and journalists don't sway me enough to think that's a good gm job. They only add more pressure that you can't live up to with that roster.
@michaelahurt2 жыл бұрын
@@FindingTheNarrative Even if other teams are better LA is close enough to beat them. This isn't like Atlanta going to the ECF where it's not real. Like I said I wouldn't pick them, but they are on the short list because even if I think he's sometimes overrated, Kawhi is legitimately fucking awesome and can be the best player in any series he's in. Like you said, it's mostly health but that applies to everyone. Embiid got hurt. Middleton got hurt. KD and Klay got hurt. Steph has gotten hurt. Look at Boston this year. You can make one 'minor' trade and have internal improvement. The Clippers are super talented and have a million long athletic guys who can make threes, just like Boston. Except Kawhi and PG are way better than Tatum and Brown. Plus you are in LA, are going to an awesome arena, have a ridiculously great owner ... I'd actually say it's the #2 best job behind GS.

I’d do Durant for Tatum yesterday, are you serious? Unless you’re assuming Tatum is going to be a top 15 player all time then win that championship now. Giannis will dominate for another half a decade. Then on the West you’ll have Jokic, Morant and Luka to go against. I’m glad the Lakers won a championship by giving away the babies because there’s no way those players would win us a chip.

I guess that the wizards are afraid that if they don't pay Beall then they have nobody for the fans to come out and see next year? I think if I was in the wizards ownership/management group I would sell them on a rebuild and save that Bradley Beal money for some good role players and build a team out of the draft the next few years. Perhaps Beal could be traded for a lot of draft picks? I think it's ridiculous to pay Beal and then figure it out down the line

You just can't win if you pay a guy like Lillard 50M a year. He's not nearly efficient enough, doesn't really make others better and he's a turnstile on defense. That one, flukey Western Conference Finals playoff run where he went absolutely nuclear from three in 5 games really clouds peoples' opinion about him because they managed to get too the WFC because CJ also played pretty well.
