Good job Bills you're a jack of all trades. Keep up the good work.
@rockyglenfarms50508 жыл бұрын
I know this is old news but I don't think it would be your cylinder unless it's bent. If you were to want to rebuild, most cylinders have an end that will screw off and yes they can be a pill to get pulled apart sometimes. Seal kits are usually really cheap so in my opinion try it yourself. Even the hydraulic rebuild places I've seen will stick it to you, when in most cases you can fix a normal cylinder for easily under $500. Good day Bill.

Bill try parking the machine and leaving the backhoe bucket straight out, see if it relaxes/drops down on it's own after several minutes,if the bucket drops then it could be worn internal seals in the cylinder.If there doesn't appear to be any settling of the bucket or dipperstick then it's possible the pressure relief valve on the backhoe's controls (not the tractor itself) is becoming weak and either needs adjusting to bring it back to 3000 psi or replacement.

Bill I have 2 questions for you. 1.Was that your gas can that fell out of the backhoe bucket when you started on the stump? 2. Try a tree saver strap around the tree and then hook the chain to the strap. You can get a strap where they sell winches.

Nice video Bill .. Yeah 70ft tree! Think we will sit back and watch Haha! :)

I used to work for an engineering company and going of some of the things we made I bet that cost £100-200 max to make one ram. Also why can't you go to a hydraulic shop ? We have them in the UK, take it to them and they'll rebuild it. They're only simple. Will still probably rip you off but I doubt it'll cost anything near what you've been quoted, actually a fraction of that price I would imagine. Kim :) x

Probably time for a new machine or a rebuild on the 110, maybe take on demo from Deere, CAT or JCB and see how the competition is. Great video bill keep up the good work.👍👍

Bill I see P/auto sells an inline pressure gauge you tap into a line . Maybe worth the price to see what the flow is on the return side when it's under load. If you can prove the cylinder seals are bad it would narrow down why the lack of power.
@TheStevedie8 жыл бұрын
Making do with what you got for sure. No way that machine would pull that stump out if you didn't have the foresight to dig around it and pop half the roots. Good video, now bring it over to my house to pull some stumps lol

I've rebuilt hydraulic cylinders on my tractor before. It just takes a little time. As long as the rods have good chrome and the cylinders are OK the seals are an easy job.
@JerryMajor54259 жыл бұрын
Bill when you were pulling that tree out, what if you hooked on the forks and turned the tractor around. Then you could use the forks to push as you were pulling backwards. Just a thought. That's what we do with are bobcat and 110 when we get in a bind

Shop around for those cylinders because you can get them for 1/4 that price
@mybeaverdam19 жыл бұрын
your problem is not likely the cylinder but the spool valve it has seals and releaf pressure spring that are week or leeking just my thoughts from experiance
@shoominati239 жыл бұрын
Why don't you get the cylinders rebuilt by a hydraulic place? I'm sure they'd be serviceable, I mean they have to be put together, so there's no reason they shouldn't come apart. Then you'd be looking at the Hundreds of dollars and not the thousands. Those prices are over the top by the way! no wonder the farmers have it hard!
