I really like you having Rachel in your videos, she is so good and into being the best she can, and has a great bubbly personality on camera. You both make it very enjoyable to learn ASL. Not boring like other videos from other teachers. You folks are the best!

I like these videos where you are quizzing Rachel (and us) with mystery words--- helps me with reading finger spelling.

In Canada we don’t use the same sign for RUDE as in the states, we sign it almost (or exactly?) the same as SKIN on the cheek version. Can any Canadians or Dr. Bill tell me if there’s a difference for SKIN/RUDE (or maybe other Canadians sign skin on the hand - I’ll ask my teacher tomorrow). Thanks!

The cheek-based version of RUDE exists in ASL and the U.S. in addition to the palm-based version. Seems more of my friends and contacts from the eastern U.S. use the cheek version. Out here in the western U.S. we mostly see the palm-based version of rude. It would be good for interpreters (particularly video relay terps) to know both versions. The cheek-based version does (amusingly) map to the word "cheeky" -- which is a way of saying that someone is rude.

When I saw "Loxodonta"--😳😳😳. Ohhh yeah! Elephant. I missed seeing Canis familiaris 'Riley'. Good lesson. Thank you.
