Songs have a way of coming full circle in our lives. I married Christopher Alexander on August 1, 2009 and six days later he died. Last Wednesday, one of my vice principals played this song over the intercom as we were welcoming students into the school for their morning classes. I told my vp that the song is from a movie soundtrack I couldn’t quite place. Within a split second, I realized that it wasn’t from a movie, but rather that I hadn’t heard the song since Chris used to play it for me in the mornings. Bill Withers should be a household name, which I think is @CroweBird's point. He was a name in our household as my kids were growing up, as I've played these songs of his for years and made sure they knew that it was Bill Withers gave us great songs like "Lovely Day".
