Bill Withers should be a household name, which I think is @CroweBird's point. He was a name in our household as my kids were growing up, as I've played these songs of his for years and made sure they knew that it was Bill Withers gave us great songs like "Lovely Day". Being "underrated" doesn't mean he wasn't excellent, because you just want to listen to his songs over and over and you just don't want them to stop. I didn't grow up knowing who Bill Withers was, but my kids sure did!
