Last night, Amazon Prime Video celebrated the launch of its highly anticipated legal drama series Goliath, starring Billy Bob Thornton from prolific writer and producer David E. Kelley. Multi award-winning Kelley, the mind behind some of America’s most distinctive television series, is one of the few writers to have had series air on all major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC). Goliath marks his first series on a streaming service.
The star-studded premiere event at The London West Hollywood was attended by cast members Billy Bob Thornton, Maria Bello, Olivia Thirlby, Tania Raymonde, Sarah Wynter, Britain Dalton, Jason Ritter, Diana Hopper, Ever Carradine and Julie Brister, as well as executive producers David E. Kelley, Jonathan Shapiro, Ross Fineman and Larry Trilling. Amazon Studios' Head of Drama Series Morgan Wandell and Kelley’s wife Michelle Pfeiffer were also in attendance.
The celebration kicked off with a special screening of Goliath’s premiere episode followed by an exclusive after party at The London Penthouse to celebrate the highly-anticipated new series.
Goliath stars Billy Bob Thornton, William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby and Maria Bello in the ultimate David vs. Goliath battle fought in the 21st century American legal system. The series follows a down-and-out lawyer (Thornton) as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful.
All eight episodes will premiere Friday, October 14 on Prime Video in the US, UK and Germany.
