I saw this skit on TV in Sydney in 1985 and cried tears of laughter. And then, in the late '80s, I went on a Victorian Sewer Tour in Brighton, England, and shared the skit with my fellow sewer tourists ... AFTER we'd done the tour!

I had the good fortune of going to his show in Adelaide at the Festival Theatre I parked my car and got in the lift with my wife and got out at the wrong level at the back of the Hyatt hotel to run into THE BIG YIN on his way to the show, I yelled out to him and spoke briefly saying my mum was Glaswegian and grew up in the Same tenement buildings he did. He gave me his autograph and said I’ll see you at the show and shook my hand. My wife and I were very impressed he was humble polite and happy to spend a couple of minutes talking to a fan he was a gentleman. Still have his autograph in a frame at home.
