So glad to have acess to such wonderful memories. As a young man who joined the military at 17 years of age. I carried hi music with me. So many great songs of that era. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. This song would definitely make the rop ten, in my opinion.

When I left Hollywood and moved back to New York .. and left the one true love of my life .. I played this over and over for two years ...and New York State Of Mind ... until we got back together ... and still are. Bill Joel, you are the songs of my life. You once asked, on here, which was my favorite (if that was really you) and I said that every song that you have ever written, sung are my favorites. You have written the story of my life. Thank you, my friend. From Bensonhurst ... with LOVE!

My favourite song for nostalgia purposes. When I was 5 years old, 1984, my parents had a vinyl single (45) of this song (Songs from the Attic Version) and I literally played my first record ever as they showed me how to use the record player. Well, I was then hooked on music and records. I played this song over and over so much, my parents still to this day tell the story to our family, friends and acquaintances. I became obsessed with it for months, even years later as I learned how to play piano. Needless to say I became a huge Billy Joel fan as a kid, child, teenager and adult. It still to this day takes me back to a happy place and happy time. I saw Billy in MSG Nov. 2017 and it was unfortunately not on the set list that night (my only time seeing him as I live in Newfoundland, Canada.) But man, what a show and experience for my and my wife on a weekend trip to NYC. I plan to see him again and hopefully I'll get to see this song live before either me or Billy aren't around or playing anymore. And the sax solo on the "Songs from the Attic" live version, is still my favourite sax solo of any band of any timeline. You can feel the soul / passion in that solo so much. Needless to say for me, it's one of my favourite Billy Joel songs.

THANK YOU! I had a death in the family and had to sell my tickets for this show. This is one of my top five Joel songs and being he NEVER performs it any more, I was so mad I missed it. Hopefully he keeps it in the rotation and I get to see him do it Monday.

And also It was his farewell concert so Id never see him again, but i still love Billy Joel and at least i could hear His voice live and watch him on screens, maybe i'll have a better experience next Time, not with Billy but with other artists thanks to this experience, all i can do Is to keep enjoying his songs.

Has changed substantially. Ever since he started changing his '76-'81 band lineup it's slowly gotten worse and worse. I'd still pay top dollar to see this guy live (and I did in 2014), but there is NO question his songs sounds much, much different. I'm not even talking about his lowered voice, I don't mind the key changes. Just the overall feel of his songs are a lot worse (in my opinion at least). Though it's not an opinion that his sound hasn't changed. Once again, it totally has. Like Dom O'Leary said, go listen to Songs in the Attic. I'd die to see THAT Billy Joel in concert. Okay, have a nice day. Long live the Joelster.
