I remember the first video i saw of this unknown kid with red shorts a hat sitting on a bench and playing his guitar. I think it must be 7 or 8 years maybe longer. Since that day i was following him on the internet watching him getting bigger and bigger and better and better. Gig after gig. Crowds getting bigger. I hear an read all the comments about how great his shows are. For years i'm hoping for a european tour. And then the news came.... Finally....4th of december Amsterdam...i'll be there and watch him live. Dreams do come True sometimes 🙏🏻

When Billy closes his eyes and plays he must be expressing, I imagine anyway, he is expressing both the past and the future of bluegrass. Maybe his dreams, maybe the collective expression of his fellow players, maybe the picture in the background, or even the license plate on the speaker. Doesn't matter. He is inside himself, where we all live daily, pressing it out through his fingers..and speaking to each listener in their own individual voice.

He's a marvel, nothing about him makes sense; he's a Michigan kid with roots in metal music, his southern accent is trained, not real. And yet, he's created something so unique by bringing it all together, a hippy covered in tattoos dressing up like lord of the rings characters to do bluegrass shows? Why not
