Glad he covered this amazing Jimmy Driftwood song! I also love the artist who first covered this song - Eddy Arnold.

Billy Strings. Amazing guitarist, singer, songwriter, bandleader and great guy. I saw Doc and Merle years ago in Seattle. Doc is grinning big on this one. Thanks Billy Strings. RIP Doc Watson.

One of the greatest tunes, and hard to improve on, but Billy and his band nailed it. Wow, I'm sorry to have missed it!

Very nice cover by Billy, he kept the fiddle break Doc used when playing with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on the "Will the Circle Be Unbroken album. Great job!

Sorry, Billy doesn't cover Doc Watson, but Jimmy Driftwood who used to be the composer of the "Tennessee Stud".

Who's playing the fiddle?

Fine version. But it's not Doc Watson's song, it's Jimmy Driftwood's. He wrote it & he sings it right kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoWtm3l7fLN-os0

This song is a total lie. What's this "There never was a horse like the Tennessee Stud" nonsense? What about Secretariat? Huh?
@Dulcimerist21 күн бұрын
Secretariat was born in 1970. This song was written in 1959.
