I'm still not a huge fan (and/or remain unexposed to or ignorant of) of bluegrass in general but there's just something so relatable and compelling in BMFS's lyrics and his song melodies and progressions. There are so few "guitar hero" level players who's music I find so compelling, in fact, its the opposite. I can only take electric guitar instrumental wankery for so long, Yngwie, EVH, all that. Its the songs, man. @@Tusitala1967

His parents are recovering from drug addiction, his father died from a heron overdose, and his town destroyed by the opium epidemic. I think they will be okay as long as they find healthy ways to deal with the unnatural state of stardom. And I am 59 years old and have thought the same thing about not living long enough to see where these younger musician's journeys take them. But, not going to worry about it. wow! I learned a lot this week. I was listening toJoe Rogan podcast talking to Tucker Carlson. That's a mouthful. Tucker said he likes bluegrass and mentioned Billy Strings so I thought I'd check and see what that was about and I found Billy Strings doing Doc Watson tunes. I gotta tell you, I grew up with Hee-Haw on tv and I thought it was such a dumb show I didnt even pay attention to it. When I heard the name Doc Watson, that was what I thought of. I had NO idea how talented, influential and important to Bluegrass music Doc was. Thank you Billy Strings and thank you universe for keeping perfection like this available for us to make the world a happier place!!

Timeless, ageless, music is immortal. Songs go on and on. Our bodies shall return to water and dust but music carries on. Without physical form or ego trappings, these songs will keep unborn descendants toes a tapping.. All the friction of the long roads grind shall fade away as another generation learns to play the songs from the one who keft them here. A new one learns to play and sing and even improvise. Heard again these welcome friends arrive and go making new friends on their way. Before departing those notes so nice and beats with spice raise spirits living and departed. This one now who sings those words once written on a scrap of paper nearly thrown away. Corrected perfected cherished and rehersed. Delivered to the world embaced by those who thirst for authenticity Again and again here and there the immortal traces lift the faces with smiles of delight. I pray someday to hear you play with authority, original and alive before me. appreciation for all the ears who paid to experience these creations, children of your life. With a band so tight filling all with delight. Encore played Im glad we stayed to savor every note. Good day good night thanks exchanged back on to the road. Arriving at a new venue not just a destination. Another stage another crowd and another songs creation. This way and that one too so much appreciation. Back and forth what you bring forth between us it will grow. Someday in a time far away together once we gave birth to a brand new song long ago that lives beyond our years on earth. Genuine and heartfelt with love authentic music is created. When we die no need to cry for these songs they are immortal. Appreciated and enjoyed by so many through the years. Some make me laugh others make me cry. When we are gone they will carry on delivering their treasure. Where unborn generations shall.embrace the songs so honest and genuine authentic and original. They live on and carry on long after the author has passed into the light.
