Finally some real songwriting, real music. Just discovered this Billy Strings yesterday, by the end of the day my neighbors knew who he was too.

Darryl Hammons the iTunes version of the album I downloaded isn’t very clear and that really is unfortunate because the music is fantastic. Maybe remastering the album would help.
@drh4884 жыл бұрын
@@ianwoollard2063 I just think they are a "live" playing band. Studio out of comfort zone. Especially if someone else is trying to produce their sound.
@chrisbbill3 жыл бұрын
There is a real art to the old bluegrass style of using one microphone for the whole group, and mixing by stepping toward or away from the microphone. There are 2 or 3 amps in the shot, but there are no cables running from any of the instruments, so I’m pretty sure it’s just the one mic. And this is a phenomenal example of it.
@cybermonk82463 жыл бұрын
@@chrisbbill thats truly phenomenal
@DailyPragmatism Жыл бұрын
@@chrisbbill it is indeed just 1 mic. They played a three song set here I believe and Billy addresses it in between tunes.

This should have millions of views. One mic, with dynamic sounds from each musician vocally and instrumentally. Talent on display.
@crocodilegrundee45142 ай бұрын
You can tell a good bluegrass band by whether they can use a single Mic, and whether they use their instruments as percussion since they don’t have a drummer. These guys do it all very very well!

I just hope that Chris Thile and Billy Strings will be a thing.
@lobsterboy81484 жыл бұрын
Thile is too hokey for Billy. Also, Jarod Walker is a better mandolinist anyway. Billy said himself that Jarod is the best mandolin player he’s ever met... and he’s met Chris Thile.
@njgl20104 жыл бұрын
If I may insert my opinion..... NO WAY MAN! It's just how it is supposed to be! However, I feel ya, and I respect it! Chris Thile is an awesome mandolin player, but Jarrod is that half worn out shoe that fits Billy's bad foot so well and makes walking so much easier for him, and doesnt cause his back to hurt after being on his feet all day! ie, A PERFECT FIT!
@patrickhawkinson83993 жыл бұрын
Jarrod is a more fitting player for Billy's sound. But not so sure he's more talented than Thile. Thile is like the Bela Fleck of mandolin. Can play anything, any style.
