Dated a girl who worked and lived on site when Billy played at the Mishawaka. I asked what was like to see him at such an intimate magical place on the Poudre River with the Rocky Mountains setting the mood. She asked who Billy Strings was. We didn't last.

So much to love here. When the current fad has been towards the incredibly simplistic and boring, these guys are positively symphonic. Their approach is like the underground westcoast rock bands and jazz of the 1960s jazz and even that first wave of alternative bluegrass and folk: complex, daring, playful, unique. Such freshness! Such talent! Definitely gets this soon to be 70-year-old man excited about new music again! I am truly happy for their young fans that they can experience this phenomenon in their best years. I never checked into see how he was doing until we were on a walk back to camp and I asked him how are you man? I’m here for you man. It’s okay to serve yourself, you’re not in this alone. You’ve got so much love and so much to live for. We/ I love you for you not all the BS. It meant a lot to him and me. then Billy dropped this video and it put a bow on the interaction. I told people of this young man and his talent years ago. I am so glad to see him getting the recognition he deserves. Love Billy Strings.

First off, it's AMAZING that this is live. Even if it wasn't - it sounds like a band of older musicians that have been doing exactly this their whole lives and just gel together in addition to each individual's skill. OR it sounds like someone payed thousands of dollars in studio time to record each piece a hundred times to get it right. The fact that these are relatively young musicians at a live performance is just incredible. All that technical garbage aside, it's an awesome song and story! Strings and his band is the entire package and then some.
