I had braces for 7 years because it was during my school years so they had to make sure my teeth didn't shift over summer break. Then I had my retainer for a year. I had to have dental surgery because two do my teeth hadn't descended due to a deep-rooted silver tooth that had to be removed. Only thing I liked was changing the colors of my bracket bands on my braces. But it was hell 😳

As a person who suffers from Anxiety with very random and out of nowhere triggers, I can personally say that Anxiety is manifested SO well in this movie. When anxiety takes over, it gets so hard to breathe, think, move, speak - ALL of it. Inside Out 2 is my favorite movie, not just for the visuals, but how much I relate so much to it. EDIT: Comment section got wild. Don't worry, my darlings. Anxiety is in no way a disorder, nor should you EVER think that there is something wrong with you when Anxiety takes the reins. All it takes is a good moment to yourself or a friend/family member. If you pay attention to the other emotions in this film, NO ONE is immune to it. Everyone is different. We all have it. Everyone who commented is beautiful, positive or negative commenters.

"Maybe this is what happens when you grow up. You feel less joy." I love this line because it's what the first movie illustrated and what this sequel reinforces - life gets complicated, it gets messy and as you get older, it continues to try and steal your joy. It doesn't always come as easily as it once did, but the point is balance and to actively seek it. That's why they say to, "find the joy in the little things." We often forget that she may not be the focus, but she is still there.

There’s so many gems in this, but my favorite line is “we don’t get to choose who Riley is. “ This take may sound old af but I think one of the biggest lessons you have to learn at that age is that your emotions are just emotions - they come and go - They are meant to give you signals but they should not run you and all of them should not be acted upon

It's interesting to see the movie from the point of view of someone who doesn't deal with anxiety on a daily basis. I've done many of Railey's things in my life, even as an adult, but now that I've been in therapy for a few months,, I'm learning. It really seems like Anxiety has all the solutions, but then it just escalates... In the end, this movie represented very well what happens when you put your anxiety first.

It's important to remember there are no bad emotions. Anxiety is just trying to protect us like every other emotion. It's just trying to protect Riley. Anxiety is just very sensitive and can turn into unhealthy behaviour if not managed well. Which is what we get to see at the end. They're helping to stop anxiety before she goes too far and then redirects her to something that would actually be beneficial to Riley. Every emotion will ALWAYS be needed. They just need to learn how to do their job the best for the person they have. That goes for us people too.

The thing with anxiety is that like all emotions, it's not naturally bad. Riley was anxious about not making the cut, so it prompted her to get up early and put in some extra practice. She was anxious that she had alienated herself, so anxiety prompted her to clear things up with Val. It's when we don't keep it in check that it can mess with our sense of self and get us to make some bad choices.

8:01 I wholeheartedly disagree. Joy is the one who has made the most mistakes. Sadness only makes Riley cry and lets her pain get out and emphasize with other people. Also she is an expert and technical mind stuff. Joy is the one who screw things up a ton😂
@wesleywallace4426Ай бұрын
But are they good mistakes? Is trying your best and failing a mistake? Is trying to help someone and helping them the wrong way a mistake? What if Sorrow had kickstarted the Back of the Mind collapse early, which is technically a good thing. Would every other emotion Sadness included see that as a healthy thing? Or does Riley need to see first-hand that nonstop happiness can be toxic, and any one emotion/belief can be damaging Joy included. Riley called for Joy at the end of the movie which might be saying that despite her incorrect leadership she's still pushing Riley in an overall positive direction. Sorrow could be a great leader too, but for Riley Joy's philosophy of idealistic optimism rules.

All emotions are needed and important, even anxiety. It can prepare us for the bad things. One thing I learnt in therapy (because of social anxiety) was these questions: "What is the worst thing that could happen?" and "Can I deal with that?" For example, the worst thing in the movie would be Riley doesn't make the team. Life would go on. But you have to be aware of that so you don't stress about all the things that can happen. While I appreciate your sentiment of "Stay true to yourself!", almost all people want to fit in. This is why people hide parts of or doubt themselves. Everybody is influenced by those around them. But of course, Anxiety should never take the lead.

Came to this video after finally watching inside out 2 on disney+ and i just wanna say, this movie does an extremely accurate depiction of anxiety! I've had anxiety for about as early as i can remember (which would be preschool), and when she was spiraling into her anxiety attack it almost caused me to start having one because that is EXACTLY what it feels like! The constant negative thoughts racing around your head, the feeling of being out of control, your vision and perception being distorted, even to the calming down aspect of 'what's something i can touch, hear, smell, and see', to help ground you. What i love more than anything about this movie though is it helps to show that anxiety is a normal emotion, it's perfectly normal to be anxious about making a new team, or starting a new school, or whatever the case may be. However, the most important thing to remember is that you can't let that emotion control your life.

I think it's important to note that anxiety truly does have a role in our lives and it is important. The problem is when it grows larger than everything else. I love how they showed the other emotions caring for anxiety, because that's basically them saying "chill, we got this for now". Also, dealing with anxiety is not easy and it is not simply a matter of choice, especially since it can take years for someone to even realize they have it. I say all of this out of personal experience, and I've been fighting against myself for my own life for over 10 years. This movie did great in showing how each emotion has it's role and has it's downside.
