Everyone else was fast asleep. This was before mobile phones or internet (about 1988), so the only thing to do was listen to a tape on the stereo. I found some headphones there and looked through the tapes. I'd grown up without TV, but I'd heard of Billy Connolly and there was a tape by him. So I plugged the headphones in and listened to it, chuckling silently to myself so as not to disturb anyone else. That was, until I got to 'Ivan the Terrible'. Legend. Americans and Brits have their own comics and typically stick to there own. Billy transcends both and is truly the definition of 'legend'. Brilliant.
@w0bbl3r2 жыл бұрын
All they should need in the dictionary for the definition of "legend" is a picture of Billy Connolly. Nobody in their right mind could argue with that I reckon. A Scottish, British, EARTHLY fucking treasure, no two ways about it.

I've had the 'a certain energy between us' line trotted out before more than a few times so allow your dear ol' Aunty Jenna to expand just a bit on what you do in those situations... after you slap them, hit them harder and run for the hills, possibly getting someone with a mental health care degree to go deal with the speaker too. Nothing good comes out of a line like that. Best case, it's a creep who is using a line that makes your skin crawl and should be scraped off their rock and tossed back into the sea - worst case, it ends with them explaining that energy is why they feel safe telling you how they really are vampires and know you connect throughout the ages. (And yes. I've had that happen. Still more normal than the guy who thought he was a werewolf hitting on me by telling me about his axe collection. While I sat on my husband's LAP and quietly prayed for an adult to come and rescue me. And no. I'm not kidding. Sigh. And no, it wasn't a halloween party. Different places/times. Both dead serious. I just wanted them to be dead. Seriously.) Harmless twat or nutjob that wants to wear your skin - they both need help above your paygrade, so run and hope the dumpster fire they are can be put out by someone else. ~shuder~
