9:30 The reason why the drone starts slow when in POI is that it is measuring the distance between itself and the selected target - that way it can know how big of a circle it has to do.

Billy, I’ve watched so many videos on “how to” with ActiveTrack, but yours is hands down the best.
@WilliamCBonner3 жыл бұрын
POI is more powerful than you give it credit for. You can have it circle a subject that is moving. I've had some really good results going around a sailboat that's going upwind. The speed needs to be high enough that it will make it around the front, and you need to have safe space around since it's going sideways most of the time.
@AdventureRich3 жыл бұрын
I had no idea you could track a moving subject in POI 😯

Plus you can still control the drone’s altitude and gimbal while it’s doing it’s thing. Makes for some dynamic moves.

I agree with you about the loss of previously and available flight modes, some of which were quite useful. I’d also like to see spotlight mode (and others) added in a firmware upgrade to the M2P, unsure whether it’s possible or just not a priority until the next Mavic Pro is released. The lack of side sensors has been my biggest gripe and has been the cause of at least a few crashes from the random super tall tree in my path during a POI or spotlight.

Hi. Very new to Drones. Just bought my first, The Air2S, a couple months ago. I feel like you skirted over the POI section and didn't give enough detail. When selecting POI obviously your drone, I believe, has to be in the air and pointing at the POI in question. The arrow we used to select the speed but do we know what that speed is? Also the distant to POI that the drone maintains seems to be to be extremely far away. Can we set/change the drone to poi distance prior to starting or during flight or is this mode set by default by the app.?

Gj for video. I don't like a spotlight on air2s, because it is just orbiting around the object. On all older drones, in the spotlight, you can move linearly (like in focus mode in Litchi litchi), on the ph4p you even have course lock lines on the map. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't see the difference between orbit and spotlight on air2s.

Today I was out flying and I wanted to test out the active track and it kept saying I was in the wrong recording mode. Every time I tried to draw a box around someone walking by I got the error message. A friend who has the new Mini 3 told me to turn on Scan People I think it is in the Control tab and at first it was greyed out but once I landed I noticed I could then flip the switch to turn it on. Once in the air I could draw a box around people at the park but it wasn’t tracking them. I rarely use those features but was confused on the whole I’m in the wrong recording mode to even get it to work. I was shooting in D-log mode 4k60 then I switched it to normal mode 1080/60 and neither of those did anything. Did a FW update since when this video was made cause this to happen?

That allows me to draw box on statue and use sticks to manually orbit around sculpture and take photos at any given interval. Does Spotlight work the same way on Air 2S. Im getting my Air 2s delivered in a few days and after watching this video I’m already kind of regretting it. I need to enter coordinates of property lines taken from land surveys and have it fly the perimeter from one waypoint to the next. I’m sure I could probably tap the screen to manually add points for it to fly to, but I need it to be as precise as possible so being able to enter exact coords would be nice. I saw some other videos that gave me the impression I’d be able to do that, but it’s not looking like it. Any suggestions on how I could accomplish this, or maybe a recommendation of a similar product in this class?

Hi Billy... I just use drone in the last 2 years and have been watching different types of intelligent system. One particular one that I am very interested at is the course lock (or called fly-tap in older Mavic air app). How would I be able to execute this in DJI Fly app... or this feature gets axed? This is probably one of the most cinematic moves, if not the best you can ever do with drone, and it's impossible to execute manually due to the precision required.

I just purchased the air 2s. I am mostly impressed but it just came so close to being perfect. All it needs is side sensors for a full 360 degree active track flight. I have to be super careful that it won’t fly sideways in a tree. They could have at least disabled sideways flight on active track because the lack of side sensors but they didn’t. Seriously disappointing considering how close it comes to becoming perfect. I’m returning it and hoping when I repurchase the air 3 it will have sensors on all sides.

A big disappoint if you want to shoot yourself running in slow-mo or horse riding on the beach. For such slow mo shots someone has to manually fly the drone. That's the onky downside. Otherwise it is built like a tank.
