I've been married for 11 years. Now my marriage isn't "perfect" by any means, but we're solid. The biggest thing that I have seen, that ruins relationships is ego. Women feel like they should be treated as a queen and given everything her heart desires. No. You gotta compromise. He is just as important as you are. Sometimes he needs to feel special just like you do. Men can be "standoff-ish" and can be a real ass. Don't let an argument turn into an outright fight. If you're getting too mad, walk away for a bit to calm down, then come back and talk calmly. In that time you're calming down, go over what you're trying to say, and think of a way you can say it more clearly (and calmly). Then come to a compromise that you both agree with. My husband and I have never had a fight. Arguments, sure. We've never let an argument turn into a screaming match though.
