When my wife was in the hospital dying with cancer, I prayed God take me and let her live. I said our children need her more than me. That was 20 years ago and we are still happily married. All thanks to God for answering prayers. I would have gladly gave my life for her. Every time I think I can't love her anymore than I do, she will walk by and give that little smile and I just say to myself, God I've been proven wrong again, Ty. Cherish the ones you love people, it's not if but when the time comes they will be gone. Build great memories together now. You will need them later. As the song goes, will the Love I gave her in the past going to be enough to last, if tomorrow never comes.

My husband is currently battling terminal cancer - a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. It's amazing how quickly life can change and how much something like cancer can make you realize how precious life is. I am so glad to hear that you and your wife are still together. I needed to read this today and have hope that maybe my husband and I will still be together in 20 years.

This song always tears me up! Tim is one of my favorite country singers, and this song was released about six months after my momma died. My daddy always said that it reminded him of her, and it was what we danced to in her memory at my wedding. I always tear up at least a little bit because I was young when she was taken, and then I lost Daddy a few years ago. If you want another great one by him, “I’ve got friends that do” has been a favorite.

💝💝 I grew up in Puerto Rico with my Dad. At 14 I moved back to Texas with my biological Mom. This was the very first country song I ever heard. I absolutely loved it!! I've been hooked on country ever since. Also, check the video to this song. In the end, the Mom lived and is there fishing with the dad and little boy. 🙂 Sometimes with older country, story-telling songs, the video helps tell the story in a big way.

I started listening to country back in the 80s, I had a job that required a lot of travel, usually to small towns on back roads. You couldn't even get FM radio in those areas. I start listening to country AM stations because the stories the songs told kept me awake. I still love it. This is a great song. Thanks.

The last verse hits me especially hard because 3 years ago, during the birth of our daughter, this was me and my husband. (his name is also John) Baby was fine, but I was bleeding to death. Even told him before they rushed me to surgery "if you want to say goodbye, now is the time" Obviously I'm fine and I refused to say goodbye that day. I kissed him, told him I loved him and told him I would be fine and couldn't wait to hold our little girl

I've never been a country fan, but I came from a very pro country community so ive heard a ton. Loved rock first, then jazz/instrumentals, then I gravitated to electronica. But I've always liked this song, and a few others. there are some songs/messages that you're going to like even if it's not a type of sound you like. Emotions this pulls up makes me find the music so appealing, yet the track by itself and the singing style would be a hard no for me normally. Goes to show just how much a powerful message from the heart can change how your art is received.

And about 4 years ago. I managed to write a book series based off of some ideas to this song. The book series isn’t famous yet. But because of this song. I was a little nervous at first to post this because I was concerned it might appear that I'm being racist. These days, it feels like because I'm a white male no matter what I say someone gets offended. I'm am not now nor have I ever been a racist. That couldn't be further from the truth. I was compelled to watch your videos and I wanted to thank you & show you the respect you deserve for your honesty! What I actually am, is excited & I'll tell you why. To see a young African American listen to a country song and give it the chance to reach you emotionally and respond honestly. We need more People like you to help bridge the gap between so many Americans. When I watch your videos I see an American. A man I am proud to share this country with. You are an inspiration to me & so many others. Thank you for your honesty, for being a true lover of music no matter the, "genre." I subscribed to your channel & I'm going to actively spread the word about your channel to everyone I can. With that I think you should check out two country singers. Darius Rucker and a new up and coming singer Seckond Chaynce. Any of their country songs. I think you will be moved by them like I was & I really want to see Seckond Chaynce get a big break. My son & I would drive across the country to see Seckond Chaynce. Thank you for your time. And, straight up, if the way I worded this post sound racist please tell me so I never make that mistake again. Please, just keep doing what you're doing! The simplest things can change the world. I want my grandchildren to grow up in a country of Americans that, no matter the race, will fight for and protect eachother!

I love Tim McGraw and judging by the reactions you've done of a few of his songs you like his music. I grew up listening to him and his wife, Faith Hill. My favorite duet of theirs is actually a song written by Faith while they were going through a break up early in their relationship. The song is call Like We Never Loved at All and the music video is very parallel to what was going on in their lives--they were dating other people, they still were having to work with each other, and they were both still very hung up on each other but they weren't communicating. So the story goes that Faith wrote this song about their feelings and management got a hold of it and got Tim onboard to do a duet and song brought them back together. Check it out and see what you think. Love your videos, love your reactions. Keep foing what you're doing.
