I love this song so much, mainly because I have pictures of my then 2-year old self playing on the white sands of Biloxi way back in 1968.

Not far behind you, my father was in the Air Force and he got stationed in Kessler in 1969. Just after Camille hit, so I have deep affinity for Biloxi, this song has always had a special place in my heart
@markharrison5321 Жыл бұрын
@@billoakley7915 yep. My mom used to talk about how bad Camille was. She remembered it from our trip in 1968. At the time we lived in Tallulah Louisiana, across the Mississippi River from Vicksburg. So we were very connected to my parents' friends in New Orleans, and the Gulf Coast.

Have been a parrothead since before they had a name.... before there were crowds at his concerts. Jimmy is something very special. God bless him for being such a good friend to Jesse Winchester, and for sharing Jesse's wonderful songs.

I often don't like "covers" of other people's songs. I'm a big fan of Jessie Winchester. But this sent chills down my spine. It's so beautiful. Thank you Jimmy Buffett for such a beautiful rendition of this song. I could almost feel the breeze and smell the salty air.

I truly believe that when Jimmy makes a cover, it is better than the original. All of his covers he turns into his own.

Been a Parrothead (they weren't called that then) since the 70's when I was in my early 20's, and I moved out of Wisc. I've been living by to the Pacific shore ever since; never gone back or looked back. Biloxi is one of JB's most underappreciated songs, but a favorite of mine.

I was born in Biloxi in '51. Grew up there and I remember when it was a sleepy little sea-side town, before it became casino city.

❤️ grew up with two parrot head parents. Have two older sisters, and we'd always travel from Illinois down to the coast almost every summer! Favorite memories I cherish! Families all split up now and it breaks my heart. Find so much peace in listening to this song that taught me what love should be. Thank you!!

Sometimes I pull this up just to watch the video. When I was 20, my brother went to biloxi and caught crabs and flew home to Buckeye with all the crabs in an Igloo ice chest and we had a boil. I don't even know if it was legal. They may have been poached crabs, but we drank beer and he showed us how to eat crabs off the shell. He died later on.... And I went to biloxi bay and got bad drunk and got naked and swam more than a quarter mild out into the gulf in the middle of the night and let myself float and thought of the crabs that my brother brought back to Arizona as his carry on luggage and I missed him with all my heart and I hoped that maybe a current or a shark would take me and finally when it didn't, I swam back in and got dressed and walked across the road to my hotel room and went home the next day. And I think of him often and what it must have been like for him to be 17 and catching crabs while I was at home on the cotton farm and and how none of it really equated 20 years later, yet somehow did nonetheless. ..... I miss that feller. I hope this video never gets taken down.

I'm sure you could tell by the coastline, right? Sheesh. What if it Was before a hurricane? Would that make you happy? Could you point out the particular wave that makes it Pensacola? Or Daytona? Or could it be Lake Michigan? You need to just watch it and relax, man. You're overthinking the joyous things in life. They're just like you. Simple.

@randallcarter6913 Жыл бұрын
No doubt. Ugly pipes flowing into the bay. That’s the issue. Biloxi doesn’t have any pretty beaches. It’s mostly mud on the ‘beach’. It’s not a beach it’s a bay
