Daliya upma is a very healthy and tasty recipe. If you are bored of having the same suji upma then this is the best option for you. We have added lot many veggies to make it healthier. We are making it in pan and not in cooker. It tastes just awesome and is easy to make. This can be a perfect breakfast option. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 1/4 tsp Ghee
• 1/2 cup Daliya
• 2 tsp Oil
• Few Cashew nuts
• Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Hing
• 1 tsp Urad dal
• 1 tsp Chana dal
• 5~6 Curry leaves
• Finely chopped Green chilies
• Finely chopped Onion
• Chopped Carrot
• Corn
• Green peas
• Chopped Tomato
• 2 cups hot Water
• Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• Sugar (Optional)
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat and add ghee.
• Add daliya and dry roast on medium for about 6-7 minutes.
• Transfer the roasted daliya into a dish.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add cashew nuts and fry until these turn light golden.
• Transfer the cashew nuts into a dish.
• In the same oil add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
• Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
• Add hing, urad dal, chana dal and mix well.
• You can wash both dal well before using if you want.
• Add curry leaves, green chilies and mix well.
• Add onion and fry until onion gets light golden color.
• Add carrot, corn, green peas, tomato and mix well.
• You can use veggies of your choice.
• Add roasted daliya and mix well.
• Add hot water, turmeric powder, salt, sugar and mix well.
• Adding sugar is optional. You can skip it if you don’t like.
• Cover and cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.
• Turn the gas to low to medium heat and cook until all the water is absorbed into daliya.
• Turn the heat to lowest possible setting and cook daliya upma for another 10 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and let the upma be on the gas for another 5 minutes.
• Remove the lid and add coriander leaves.
• Mix well and daliya upma is all ready.
• Garnish with fried cashew nuts while serving.
