Thanks a lot chef for teaching a new tempering by uploading this recipe, you adding curd instead of tomatoes changes the flavour slightly. You gave us a new substitute by doing this. You adding cream and butter at the end makes the recipe rich and creamy.

Kosambri is a very tasty and healthy dish prepared on all auspicious occasions in Karnataka. It’s a salad. Another dish from Karnataka that uses moong dal is Huggi, which is similar to Pongal or khichri, but prep style is a bit different. And yes you’re right about the blunt knife. It’s more dangerous as compared to the sharp one.
