I like that you pin the corners & don’t have to own a bunch of expensive clips. 😊

@GE Designs - I use this same method but use the chunk of binding strip trimmed off at the join as my measuring tool for the overlap. It's the exact width of the strip....because it's literally a piece of the strip! No ruler needed :)

Thank you. I got your XL Stripology ruler for Christmas and just ordered the mini one too. I aim to cut my binding a little narrower like you do. I love doing decorative stitch too. Great videos

Oh this was great. I hate doing the binding by hand but have wanted to do it by machine but fearful of the outcome after spending so much time making the top. Have a quilt ready and am gonna try this method. Cant wait for the sew along Sunday with Bonnie.

I love this tutorial! I do make binding 2.5, sewing binding down 3/8 from the edge and use a serpentine stitch to stitch on top. I’ll be trying your method today. ❤️

Excellent. I do my binding exactly like this with the straight stitch, I will definitely be trying it with the zigzag stitch next time I do binding.

Excellent video that was easy and clear to follow. What was the name of the ruler that was used to cut the mitered seam when sewing the binding strips together? I have never heard of that tool and would really save time to use it. Thanks. ps. Love your designs, quilt alongs, and helpful videos.

Excellent tutorial! (Side note: you might want to put a different quilt on the shelf behind you as you faced the camera and spoke. You had two bunny ears on the sides of your head. :D )

????????could you talk about tips on getting the back perfect. Sometimes the thread that matches the binding shows up too much on the backing fabric and my line of stitching sometimes wanders off the back binding and into the backing area. How do you control this?

LOVE the backing fabric on the runner. Any idea of the manufacturer and name?

Why doesnt it have to be an accurate quarter of an inch from the edge when we are coming up to the corner?

I love doing machine binding but the one thing that frustrates me is that 1 side is 1/4" and the other side is much wider. I've tried making my initial stitching a little wider and then I end up in a tug of war on the other side! There has to be a happy medium.
