I was born in Paris in 1951 of American parents. Maurice Chevalier was always and still is my idea of a true French gentleman!!! How I miss men like this.

This is so charming! Such an intriguing concept for a bit. Working in Chavalier's songs so well. They act so naturally, they couldn't have had much time to work it up - lots of orchestration with all those modulations. Love it! Smart entertainment! .

I have the LIFE magazine from the same month and year this was filmed. The cover photo has Chevalier and Crosby sitting next to each other with Chevalier's head resting on Bing's right shoulder. The cover reads "Chevalier and Crosby: Two Old Pros in TV Songfest. MARCH 10, 1961. 20 CENTS." I wish I could share a picture of it!
