This could've been the case, yes, but remember that the Korchin tribe wanted a legitimate princess instead of one that came from a concubine. Even if Ruyi and Hui had daughters, they Jingsi would've still likely been chosen to get married off over theirs.

Weird that the princess didnt know anything about her own roles. I mean all the concubines that been married off to her father, some of them were also princesses from diff tribes.. It didnt ring a bell to her? She used to mock and belittle them and now she has to be like them. Married off to another tribe and became a concubine 😅

@@tinaspice To the point that her on mother's glare doesn't scare her into sumbition. She smack talks Ruyi about being a second wife and even though the Empress hates Ruyi her daughter is still out of line and she gives a "Mom Glare" but the kid doesn't even blink to it.

They really could've been a great team if the Dowager Empress didn't hold the past grudge from her aunt against her. Ruyi just wanted to be with the man she loved and was too good for the Forbidden City. The Dowager Empress should've been done with the harem games. But was trying to maximize her power and have consorts loyal to her to speak to the Emperor on her behalf. She was already the most powerful woman in the empire. Even the Emperor had to be somewhat deferential to her. That wasn't enough, and for a long time she thought Ruyi was just like her and most of the other consorts.

I feel this way too. I think zhen huan was wary of Ruyi because of her aunt initially, but she came to very much appreciate ruyi and her intelligence, loyalty to the emperor, character, and pure heart

Except the princess is the legitimate princess of the legitimate wife. She is above them regardless of age.

@@princess7jasmine in later episodes she is very respectful to another concubine in her own age and called her Mother Jing. This is because the concubine was her father's concubine therefore she belonged to an elder generation officially. The generation is more important than real age or being legitimate. Even the empresses should be respectful to all dowagers of their deceased father-in-law with ranks of Concubine or above. This is not shown in this serie. Jingse was disrespectful toward Ruyi and Chun because of dislike and her mother's spoiling. According traditions she should not behave this way. She should have call them as Mother Xian and Mother Chun and salute them.

Yes, exactly. It's like Zhen Huan is a different character in this altogether. Although..I think maybe she just needed confirmation of what she suspected from someone close to the Emperor.
