He saw all the trouble spots of Britain's withdrawal from the empire, whilst being awarded many campaign medals along the way, I have absolutely no regrets of the life we lived, every two years moved from country to country, I have nothing but pride and respect for Britain's armed forces, I wish I had the composure that these guys have, I know I would be less forgiving

I’ve been to London once. Stopped there on my way to Belfast to visit some family. Wanted to see Buckingham palace and the tower. When at Buckingham I approached a guard and saluted him and asked if I could take a picture next to him and if so stomp once, he did and got a great picture of me right next to him. After taking the picture he muttered thank you. I was the only yank tourist to ask him to have a picture taken and he appreciated my approaching him with respect as a soldier and a human being.

Reason the solider “ pushed “the woman away from him when she stood ” to close “ for a photo was due to the fact that she was standing on his side where he had his weapon “ firearm “ at rest and with the muzzle of the rifle pointed up. He was actually moving her for HER safety and his. People do NOT realize or understand that THESE SOLDIERS ARE IN FACT REAL SECURITY FOR THE QUEEN AND THEIR WEAPONS ARE REALLY LOADED WITH LIVE AMMUNITION !!! Now had she been on the other side of him she would have been fine. When I was on Marine Corps weapons drill team and Honor Guard in the military this was also rule also when people wanted to get photos while we were performing a duty.

A few years ago we were at a county show and my 11 year old son and I went to the King's Troop Royal Artillary stand. Well my son was very tall for his age, so the standard mock up uniform would not fit him and the sargent was somewhat shocked to learn my son's age, he then urged my son to try the mock up horse and said 'I bet you wish you could ride a real horse'. My son replied that he had been riding since age 11 and the surprised guy told him to come back at age 16.
