The first iteration, the "pizza cinnamon bun" is actually a pretty common way to serve pizza in Denmark (maybe other places too, idk). We call them "Pizza Snails" because they're spiral structure looks like a snail shell... I guess. I never really questioned it

That is really cool. Granted, I’m no expert on all 50 states, much less all the various cities, but I can say that I have never seen the “Pizza Cinnamon Roll” or “Pizza Snail” as you put it, here in the states. Growing up in Erie, PA, I thought pepperoni balls and pizza balls were common everywhere. It wasn't until I moved away that I found out they pretty much only exist there. Most of the local pizza places in Erie have pepperoni balls and pizza balls on their menu and I am always tempted to get one when I visit. A pepperoni ball is roughly the size of a dinner roll and filled with pepperoni and cheese, and can be baked or air fried. To make a pizza ball, you take a pepperoni ball, cut an x on top, and fill the pepperoni ball with sauce and more cheese & pepperoni.

The cinnamon roll style is really, really common in Denmark. What you want to do is onjy have a small amount of cheese on the inside and top with cheese and your topping of choice before baking.

As a West Virginian, it's wild to me that noone's brought up OUR 'pepperoni rolls'! We had a whole lotta Italian-American coal miners, and they invented a fun and delicious delicacy, that we still make today in pretty much all of our public schools. There's even a bakery in St Albans, WV (shout out Little Bit of Heaven Cupcakes) that make them like cinnamon rolls! In the Cincinnati area, there's a pizza place called LaRosa's that sells a rolled pizza item they call rondos. They're used to dip into sauce rather than sauce rolled inside. Maybe that would help with any moisture problems.

I went to college in Radford virginia where a place made "pizza rolls," like the cinnamon pizza rolls you made. Instead of putting the sauce on the inside, just put cheese and a single topping (like buffalo chicken) directly in the center. You can dip into sauce on the side. I miss eating those pizza rolls so much that I might just try making them myself now

Two things: First- this was old school OG Binging with Babish. Welcome back. Second- cut your pepperoni to the desired size and microwave for 30 seconds wrapped in a paper towel in a glass bowl. Removes 75% of the grease and leads to crispy pepperoni.
