Another wonderful vlog from you my friend... sharing the iconic foods in Chinatown. Once upon a time I worked in Binondo before migrating overseas. Btw just a correction, the 100k casualties during the Battle of Manila was not from Japanese stragglers or pocket resistance...but from relentless bombarding from US planes and ships. For them the Filipino citizens are mere collateral damages. Manila was one of the most devastated city during WWII.

Ho tut tai soup, never mind the spelling. Birds nest soup, right? Expensive dish. Tikoy, we fry tikoy. That cake sticks to you teeth. The other dishes aren't that special, but also good. I've had exotic dishes in China town when I was there. Can't pronounce, let alone spell their names. It's best going there with a bunch of people for enjoyable dining to be cost effective.

Marshall, it does not make sense that Binondo is the oldest Chinatown. Think about it. China's boundary has changed over the years. It should be somewhere in mainland Asia.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but, it seems you're using a different definition of Chinatown. Binondo wasn't ever a part of China, it's Filipino. Maybe I'm just not understanding this comment. Take care.

@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 , parts of China in mainland Asia decades or hundreds of years ago are now part/s of other mainland Asian countries. I'd guess the oldest Chinatown outside China is somewhere in Korea, India, Japan etc. that's all.
