Have one, I also have the camp stove. Both are very well build and quite useful in form and functionality.

What scenarios do you use the camp stove in? I like the idea and would like to get one, but I worry it's going to be too heavy for hiking and too small for car camping.

@@BelgianHikers I have one and not impressed at all. It barely generates enough electricity to run it's own fan, have to constantly feed it sticks which means taking your pot/pan off to add more. Neat concept, but not practical at all IMO.

I have both & wished the termo generator was in the fire pit. I like the campstove with the grill. I do all my cooking on the grill because it has a flap to add wood without taking anything off to refuel it but it’s best to use the pot it came with on the stove itself & I will uses pellets for that. It is a pain to keep taking the pot off to add wood. My neighbor has a pellet stove in his home & gives me pellets. He has the campstove also & said pellets will burn longer but I don’t think I’ll use those pellets to cook meat over. I do have BBQ pellets for that & gives the fish a good flavor on the grill. If I’m back packing for a couple days I would just take the stove without the pot & grill. If I didn’t take this stove I would be packing fuel bottles, solar panel & power pack.

How easy is this to pour water on and pack right back up? Wondering if this would make for a good tailgating grill or substitute. Does it create a complete mess if you need to shut it down in a hurry.

If you have enough water to really hose it down, I suppose you could. But it's definitely going to be messier than a grill that's closed on the bottom. The cleaner solution would probably be to put the fan on max and burn through the remaining wood or coal as quickly as possible and then brush it off.
