Since i was a kid, i always wanted the 4th Bionicle movie.
@ToaZaz27 күн бұрын
There actually was a 4th Bionicle movie! Bionicle: The Legend Reborn in 2009. It was by a different studio and wasn't part of the same series as the original trilogy. Very different animation style and tone, less "epic" and more "slapstick humor". A lot of Bionicle fans, myself included, are not really fans of it, but some fans do like it and for some it was their entry into Bionicle.

we should get the OG filmmakers behind the mirmax bionicle movies in on the project and make it offcial

That'd be awesome. Maybe @ them when the project gets further along to see what they think!

This fandom is the definition of "Fine, I'll do it myself." And DUDE. What you've got so far is amazing, especially the Act 3 storyboard!! The Miramax movies were a big part of my childhood. I'm so excited to see creators paying homage to them in their new projects, and bringing more of the legend to life.
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!!! And totally agreed, I'm amazed at the enduring passion, talent, and creativity that the fandom has showcased in keeping Bionicle alive so many years later! I'd have expected it might have fizzled out by now but it feels like fan projects are stronger than ever, almost like a mini-renaissance of new Bionicle content. I think those of us who were kids during the original run grew up, rekindled our love for Bionicle, and re-engaged with the fandom having developed a lot more skills than we had previously (not to ignore amazing creators like Tohkann who were making terrific content during Bionicle's original run!).

Man that kardas dragon size is wat we need on the big screen
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
I was wondering if I was going too far with the size increase LOL, but I thought it really adds to the reveal. I guessed it'd be OK since Sayger scaled up Fenrakk and Kardas in his illustrations, and the size of characters in the films was often different than in the sets (and in some cases a bit random, like Keetongu and the Visorak changing sizes). Thanks!

I’ve been reading the Legends books, I think they’re the best written so far. I love following the matoran we grew to love in Mask of Light and seeing them become Toa. The Piraka are also very compelling villains.
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
Yeah they're so good! I used to reread them again and again as a kid. I revisited them when I was writing the screenplay and I had assumed that as kids' books they wouldn't be as good as I remembered, but I was pleasantly surprised that they actually are that good, genuinely well-written. It feels like Greg was given a ton of freedom to be creative and tell a really dramatic and intense (but also genuinely funny at times) story. I love pre-2006 Bionicle too but IMO that's the year when the story really got super compelling.

this need some audio work, volume is up and down all time, it even cracks sometimes!
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
Thank you for this feedback. Yeah the audio is definitely rough. Especially with Zaktan, the only way I was able to get the voice right was by whispering into a sensitive microphone and that caused the cracking. I plan to figure out how to avoid cracking, then re-upload my videos with the volume and audio fixed.

@@N8-PT for jailer and Hahli I thought of new actors for their toa forms as I not only switched to an American voice cast for this one but I wanted them to sound older and more grown up…..also willingham and Bailey are hardly ever a couple on tv and in video games

Great choices! I think I'd keep the MoL/LoMN voice actors for Jaller, Hahli, Hewkii, and Kongu, and maybe just have the actors make them sound a little more mature when they become Toa (like how Whenua's voice changed in LoMN).

is this going to be 3D Animated like the Miramax Films? will there be a Casting Call for Voice Actors from the Bionicle Community
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
Waiting to see how many people are open to collaborating! It would be incredible to work with someone who can do 3d modeling or animation, but if not then there are other ways potentially to continue the project (maybe through detailed colored illustrations instead of storyboards?). And I've had two people so far express interest in voice acting- as the next phase of the project becomes clear, I'll probably do a casting call!

Bring in Nathan Furst to compensate the music for this movie. But also for the other two of The city of the lost/The 2007 story movie, and Battle for Power/The 2008 story movie as well👍
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
Love Nathan Furst's iconic score! Since I can't pay anyone for the project, I think what would have to happen would be to score the movie using Nathan Furst's existing tracks for the first three films (but with better music editing than my crude edits)- I think there's enough released to score a 2006 film at least, and I think using the existing tracks would sound much more consistent with the originals than fans, talented as they are, trying to imitate Furst's music. The one exception is the intro sequence (first scene in the script) which I feel would need to be an original remix to sound differentiated from the intros of the films; for that I think I'd like to get in touch with the amazingly talented fans out there who do Bionicle-themed music, to see if they'd be interested in composing a remix.
@ToaZaz2 ай бұрын
For 2007 and 2008, I wanted to first see how far we can take the 2006 project, to figure out whether similar sequel projects would actually be feasible. I wrote the script to be as self-contained as possible, I consciously cut out most of the 2007 set-up from the '06 Legends books. But yeah, maybe someday!

Thank you so, so much, I really appreciate it! And with the shot choices, a lot of it I really owe not only to what Stuart Sayger drew, but also what Greg wrote- he's such a great writer and the sight of the Ignika emerging from the lava is described very distinctly in Legends #5. Also I wanted to callback to the shot in Mask of Light with Takua reaching for the Avohkii in the lava. Thanks so much again- you can follow project updates on KZbin and also the links in my channel description!
