Whenua’s drill weapons get reused once, by Velika in 2006. But yeah, Matau’s blades see many more reuses in other sets. The red Vahki’s blades (Nuurahk) see plenty of reuse in the system playsets, and the white Vahki’s blades (Keerahk) are reused in the same year for Nivawk.

A few days late to this, but it's nice to see something like this again. I only had a total of nine Bionicle sets from 2004, being that none of them were obtained during the time of initial release. Instead, they were obtained between February 2006 and July of 2007 on aftermarket, but all were still in sealed condition amazingly. I obtained the Toa Metru forms of Nokama (8602), Whenua (8603), Onewa (8604) and Matau (8605), three of the Vahki (8614, 8615 and 8618) along with Turaga Dume and Nivawk (8621) and Nidhikii (8622) during that time, though I never had the instructions or canister from Nuurakh (8614) or Bordakh (8615). As all of the parts comprising those two came in a Bionicle "Parts tub" (6638) I had from 2006. Regarding the exclusivity of the Toa Metru weapons around 6:37, Vakama's Kanoka Launcher, Nokama's "Hydro Blades", Onewa's "Proto Pitons" and Nuju's "Crystal Spikes" were technically exclusive to their respective sets, but multiple copies of them also appeared in the above-mentioned "Parts tub" (6638), with ten of the Crystal Spikes, four of each of the Hydro Blades and Proto Pitons and two of Vakama's Kanoka Launcher being included. Whenua's "Earthshock Drills" and Matau's "Aero Slicers" also appeared in this parts tub, though the former of these came in the Voya Nui Matoran of Velika (8721) repurposed as "Power Carvers", while the "Aero Slicers" were later used as decor for two larger Bionicle sets in mid-2008. These were also the only ones of the Toa Metru weapons to be used outside of Bionicle, as they appeared recolored in Mata red in an "Exo-Force" set (7701) at the start of 2006. In terms of the Vahki weapons, only the "Staffs of Suggestion" from Zadakh (8617) and the "Staffs of Presence" from Rorzakh (8618) were exclusive to their respective sets, though a different Parts tub (8715) from 2005 came with the parts of all of the Vahki, except Vorzakh (8616) for some reason. One of the "Staffs of Erasing" from that set also appeared in Krekka (8623). The "Staffs of Command" from Nuurakh (8614) also appeared as decoration in two minifigure-scale sets (8892 and 8624) from 2006, but nowhere else after that. Leaving the "Staffs of Confusion" from Keerakh (8619) as the only ones to appear outside of Bionicle. Being recolored in a melded color scheme in another Exo-Force set (7702), I obtained from a bookstore in the last days of 2006. On the opposite end, "The Staffs of Loyalty" from Bordakh (8615) were in use for the longest span of time. Appearing in ten sets in total before they were phased out in 2008. The Mata heads also appeared in some minifigure-scale sets in medium stone gray and Keet orange during '05, with that part and the eye stock as a whole being phased out in 2006.

I like having Krekka with an escort of Bordakh (blue Vahki). It really gives you some robocop future dystopian vibes

To me this is the worst year. Clone sets, bland depressing colors, the gear functions are bad, the matoran are horrendeous etc. All 2001-2003 charm was lost. Of course if someone likes these or if its even their favorite, great, enjoy it. Since I didnt grow up with it, its the easiest skip ever based on set design alone.

Bruh, you complain about clone sets and glorify the first three years that were nothing but clone sets and repeats of the same builds and plot points in different colors.

@@Bionickpunk I didnt glorify 2001-03,i just said it had charm which i cant find in Matru Nui, since its just another story about a dystopian police state.

@@StudSnob You absolutely did, and are quite reductive towards 2004, stating that it has no charm, which isnt true, you just refused to see it.

@@Bionickpunk its an attraction thing, either you are drawn to it or not. I am not, if you are great. Personally I enjoy 08-09 the most.
