I appreciate that you were ready to throw down if the DUI comment wasn’t ironic. I almost died after being run over by a drunk driver while helping at an accident in 2014 and have permanent injuries to my skeleton. The driver got 6 months in jail and asked not to get probation because “last time it really messed with my schedule”. I had to sue everyone involved - including my own insurance company - for almost 5 years to get my $125,000 medical bills paid for. DUIs are brushed off like nothing but the rest of us are completely fucked over for the rest of our lives.

Some rivers do have drop offs. Some also have sinking mud that sucks you in pretty quick. The river eats at the shore so sometimes it looks shalloe but you step in and it sucks you off. Rivers often are super fast moving too so he could have stepped in a spot that dropped and then gotten quickly pulled down stream.

Illinois (where I've gathered he's from or lives) doesn't actually have much of this. I've even lived in the country where rivers, creeks and such are common, never heard any warnings to worry about this stuff, except maybe the Mississippi, but who would even go in there in the first place? That's like swimming in Lake Michigan. Now, I know that water is no weakling, and has the potential to do things like pull you into riptides, or deceive about depth carve the Grand Canyon and such too), but I don't believe it's a common threat here, I think our rivers are pretty chill for the most part. At least from my own experience, I don't personally enjoy swimming or being in the water (I don't float, it's scary lol) but I know plenty who do love swimming, and have swam in rivers here and haven't had any issues. Illinois is incredibly flat, hence being called the prairie state, so there's not a lot of potential for water to gain speed and power.

Even if the river didn't have a drop off (which is possible), that doesn't mean he didn't slip and fall into it. You can still slip or have difficulties standing up if it's a gradual decline. Also, the darkness and his disability could have made him disoriented in the water. I wouldn't for the life of me try to jump into a river fully clothed and at night.
@storymaster21 Жыл бұрын
Bodies of water can have all depths of sudden drops right off the shoreline. One time while rock hopping in a shallow stream I slipped on a rock and fell into the water DIRECTLY next to the shoreline where the water met the mud. I fell 6+feet deep in a pocket of water the size of a small child. Water can pool near the edges of creeks and rivers to even greater depths, and it is possible to just step into the water from where the mud meets water and the land, and just yeet straight down. And if you cannot see or prepare for the drop you could just hit your head and then bang! you drown.
@Soy_boi Жыл бұрын
Why does Pig not understand drowning?? He was like this in another video where a couple accidentally recorded themselves drowning. He said it was fake because there is no way you could just drown in water like that. Like WTF?! You do understand that not everyone knows how to swim and people, including strong swimmers, have been drowning for centuries? When you panic, you don’t always think things through. People pointed this out in the video and he went “i know, panic, but really, doesn’t seem realistic. Just swim to shore!” I honestly don’t know if it is a bit or if he is really that dense.

Bro, rivers are scary. I'm from rural Mississippi, and I can promise you from firsthand experience that rivers do have those super deep drop-offs out of nowhere. The problem with swimming in a river is the fact that no matter what, there is a current that is trying to sweep you away. It usually gets faster in shallower sections of the river, so if the guy fell into a shallower section of the river, he could have been slingshotted through the water. There's also usually tons of things in the river, like rocks and logs, that you could get snagged on that will keep you stuck until you get hit by something bigger, or you drown. And if the guy hit his head as he was going into the water, there's a pretty good chance that he drowned while unconscious or dazed. Tl:Dr. Bad take on rivers, dude.

Just chiming in about rivers cuz I’ve lived next to the Niagara river my whole life. The picture shown is more a stream not a river. Rivers move fast. Some times there’s maybe 2 or 3 feet of steaply angled shore that drops off to water that’s maybe 3 feet deep but the river moves quickly and before you even get to stand you’re in the main part of the river. I dunno what river this guy encountered I just know falling into the Niagara river kills people monthly. Like it’s very common

Guys, Pig grew up in the 90s, pre-MCU, where admitting you liked superheroes was committing social suicide. You were only "allowed" to like Spider-Man and Batman, that's it. Also, the whole point of The Incredibles was that it came out at a time in history where superhero stories were considered a dead genre. It was kind of meant to be a nostalgic tribute to a bygone era, which is why I agree with Pig when he says it doesn't really "count."
