A lot of people will criticize or make fun of the operator, but she did exactly what you need to do in that situation. People in distress tend to go off on tangents and say a whole lot of nothing, and when you are trying to dispatch people to investigate a murder and quite possibly save someone's life, the last thing you want is having your one source of info crying at the phone for 10 minutes without even telling you where the fuck you need to send people to. She sounds dismissive, but aggressively and dismissively redirecting the conversation to "where, what, how" is way quicker than sitting there and playing the psychiatrist when someone could be potentially have scarce few minutes to live. It's still pretty funny, though.
@kramenisfalling3 жыл бұрын
I mean part of the operators job is to stay calm and this situation was already played out. No one is currently in danger, except the cops approaching a distraught person who is armed
@IceCreamCarly34603 жыл бұрын
So I was on a jury for a broken finger and that deliberation took 5 hours. We didn’t even have that much evidence and this case only went for two days. So the fact that this murder case that probably took upwards of a week to deliberate speaks to how sure the jury was that she was guilty
@wintermoon70033 жыл бұрын
Usually the longer the jury takes to deliberate, the greater chance of the accused getting an acquittal. The quicker they come back, the greater the chance they found them guilty.

Funny thing is when you actually go through a traumatic event you won't remember much. You won't sit there and act everything out. My ex abused me and my software to the point. We got into a fight. I was sitting on the bed and he punched me a few times in the eye. Then tried to wrestle the phone from me. I convinced him I wouldn't call the cops. He started walking away and I called. That 911 operator probably heard that and was like "that is not how these calls normally go," cause lets be honest she was too calm at the start. @ashrielthewitch99343 жыл бұрын
4:20 it is protocol to do that. You have to ask who is call, what is happening, and then where. Then they send emergency services there and try to keep the caller on the line. Edit: it really can be in any order but the usual is: "911 what is the state of your emergency? * Where are you right now? *What is you're name." What and where is most important because it is the nature and place of the emergency to get there faster than asking for a name. Typing on the computer to send the stuff over to the services has to be done fast. After address is confirmed you have to keep the caller on the line to get details of what the services will see at the emergency along with keeping the caller calm or giving lifesaving instructions.

The more we stress this the more we can believe when innocent people lawyer up that it isn’t a sign of guilt. Of course you need to cooperate but just protect yourself. Im in so much respect with operators. It seems weird she is so calm but im 100% shure they are trained like that. She probably allready sent personel in and just wants to make sure the suspect keeps calm and wont present danger to personel. Otherwise it might be the suspect (even if no danger) completely freaking out, especially if stressed or wounded. Make sure to calm the suspect, get info bout danger (position of the gun) and try to deescalate the situation before it escalates. Im 100% sure ghe operator is trained to be so calm in such a situation. In the other vid with ghe kidnapper/murderer turned himself in over asthma they reacted quite comparing.

It is a mental illness. as the name implies - a disorder characterized by recurrent, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and/or actions (compulsions), which are difficult to resist, since trying to refrain from them is associated with increasing fear, anxiety, tension, suffering. We can laugh but a lot of people suffer from it. We can say that they even have to restrain themselves not to do something bad. We have free will but some only to a certain extent. They are dangerous and need to be supervised. Often it is impossible to recognize if someone is dangerous until a tragedy occurs.

If anything, she should have said, “After I shot him, he fell to the ground… and I went to check on him… and he (did something to scare me like he suddenly gasped or lifted his head and screamed at me) so I shot him 5 more times, because I thought he was gonna get up and kill me!” Something like that. Just say everything happened so fast and idk what was happening. But most importantly, get a lawyer. Guilty or not, always ask for a lawyer! Lawyer up! Don’t talk, 5th amendment rights, always ask for a lawyer right away! Never talk to anyone, asking for a lawyer is for your own protection, because they will use anything and everything against you if they think you did something, so if you already look guilty, it’s not gonna look any more or less bad to get a lawyer right away Lol “Are you sure that he’s dead?…” “He’s dead ma’am, he’s completely dead!” “I made sure he’s dead… Ma’am, trust me, I would know he’s dead cuz I made sure of it… I shot him 6x, I mean, come on 🤷♂️😂… in self-defense- mind you!” Any time she would get sentenced, she would have that 2 years as already time served and that would’ve been deducted from her sentence.
