Just wanted to say thank you so much for these, was tasked by my teacher to learn chapter 16,17 + 18 at home while on half term and these videos make chapter 18 so much more easier to digest :)

How come ethanol fermentation isnt reversible, whereas lactate fermentation is?

The main reason is that the carbon dioxide would be released and so it can't become a reactant for the "backward" reaction.

Only 2 ATP are formed in glycolysis, which happens before the fermentation stages as shown in the video.
