@@Mayorofsexytown1303 I'm not holding my breath, infinite was a let down and a bit of a mess and I worry about similar issues in this game. With infinite they didn't have a concrete release date or budget, and Ken LaVine just kept making iteration after iteration, with one dev saying they had enough cut for 5 or 6 games, and many leaving the project over constant changes, leading to the game not really having a solid vision of what it wanted to be or to do, and I worry that after a decade, that this game could have been left in the oven to long as well, but that's just speculation

@@ggary04 2025? Well, even if it takes the developers a whole year to finish the game... I can wait and hopefully buy a fully finished great product rather than something raw.

Judas, the player character, seems to be an incarnation of Atlas minus the Frank Fontaine twist. It will be interesting to see all the references to BioShock that will more than likely surface in this game.

27:17 INCREDIBLE catch! You basically predicted the rogue-lite elements just from a single animated shot... We now know for a fact that the death mechanics will feature rogue-lite elements based on interviews with Ken Levine.
@chainslaughter2317 ай бұрын
Based on the symbology and premise for the story I'm guessing this game is basically Levine skewering fence sitters as well as socialism in the old sense of the word socialism, not the Marxist definition. In other words the idea that government can or should moderate society itself. Some of the other things like the giant thumbs seem to point to this as well. You have the obvious Ying-Yang symbology on the ships design as well. Probably idea is that it's a colony ship and the people in charge want to see about creating a "new man" during the trip in order to avoid pitfalls that humanity always fall into as almost all utopian philosophies (Marxism, Fascism, Objectivism, Anarchism, etc) do. Kinda similar to the real reason for the vaults in Fallout originally. Things like the Long Hugger poster and others also point to a society which punishes any kind of social faux-pau which causes awkwardness

I wonder where Levine got inspiration from for this game? Bioshock was basically based on Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". This has maybe some "Westworld" vibes to it? IDK However, I'm very excited for it!
@p00pie9 ай бұрын
Yes good question, I've been trying to think about it myself. There are already some biblical references shown (adam/eve, forbidden fruit, various sins etc). Clearly some allusions to individuality and groupthink as well. Hopefully its a little more complex than that and not shallow but I have faith in Ken Levine.
@DyDog9 ай бұрын
Don’t know if anyone’s thought of this, but Levine is really into Logan’s Run. I know the device in her hand gives Judas her abilities, but it also kind of reminds me of Logan’s Run. Everyone on the mayflower has one, and so does everyone in the city of that movie as well. Just a thought.

This time to me im getting the vibe that we are the false Shepard and Elizabeth all in one. And that Judas is somehow immortal
@dazedandenthused85599 ай бұрын
I know he's mentioned Feed by MT Anderson and Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Corey Doctorow as literary influences on this game. There's also a ton of Vonnegut's generally pessimistic view of humanity sprinkled in.
@ggary049 ай бұрын
I wonder if the three characters or the "Big Three" represent Love, Hate and Fear. Also I'm pretty positive that the little fire truck baddies are called Flying Fix it's. It almist looks like they're on a carousel in the one frame, but when I studied it further your right looks like you can hire them. The game is really hard to pin down but is it just me or is anyone else getting like a running man vibe... in a sense that this game may be a rogue like. They capture you and they pit all law breakers against each other and the rest of the ships society is brainwashed. Also the grub on the chefs chest was indeed shown in the first trailer and for anyone who doest know, was thr prototype for currency in the first Bioshock game. You would eat slugs to harvest adam, later it would be cut in favor of little sisters, or at least I believe that was tge gist of it.

My observation is that there's a major difference between the npcs appearences: the white shirts are sorta perfect attractive human specimens whilst the average or ugly are all donning dark tanktops - you can see it from the previous trailer and glimpse a few here as well (the guy in the glass thingy, the shotgun scene and yea...the poster about the long hugger 😉 Another thing that caught my eye: the small robot with blue liquid seems to have a human nose if you freeze the previous trailer at the right moment...go on, take a lookie.

Only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of openness. And infinite had that as well. Makes the world feel more like a level than a lived in area

At 23:33 the screen sort of reminded me of Pink Floyd's 1973 album cover of Dark Side of the Moon. But is it just me or does the main character, Judas bear a striking resemblance to Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite?
@Movel09 ай бұрын
Feeling conflicted as I love everything I've seen so far but I'm worried Judas might struggle to stand on its own and not just be "Bioshock in space". Every time I see a new idea an obvious call-back to Bioshock follows and that worries me. I believe in Ken Levine and I think he will bring fresh ideas, I just want to see more of them.

Im wondering if the starship Mayflower is heading to the city called Judas. And Judas the character you play as is from the past. As a callender in the background says 1979. And her actions actually creates this society in the future

If I just played the trailer in its entirety KZbin can flag my video as duplicate content or it'll tag the music in the trailer as copyrighted and demonetize my video. I've had both occur before. Either way, it's an hour-long interpretation of a two-minute trailer. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that the audience for such a specific video would have seen the trailer in question first. I appreciate your perspective though. Thanks for the feedback.
