@@jimrebr I'm sorry if my comment made it sound like that- I should have elaborated more. Cosmo's previous owner who was a family member became ill and sadly, passed away. Because of that, Cosmo experienced grief and as a result, began to pluck her feathers. This little one has always been loved and cared for, but like humans, they feel loss and grief also. Hope this clarifies.❤

@@soonmoo614 yes, I understand now, so glad Cosmo is doing better with you, I know our pets miss their loved ones, so well, when my Therapy Cat, Zool died, my younger cat moped and mounted for 3 days, on the 4th day he somehow switched personalities and became exactly like Zool. In fall 2020, I knew I had to get my sons cat, Tuvok’s, brother, a month later Fireball passed away suddenly, we took him to the Emergency ets and he said he was too far gone and recommended euthanasia, my husband was too sad and thought we should get him painkillers and hope he’d live, but he did not live. My husband slept through his horrible, painful death, it was almost more than I could bear, but Sisko spent a month with Fireball and he turned into my Therapy Cat, God is go

I knew Cozzie's beak was strong but I had no idea she could do that! I guess I should have. Parrots can open Brazil nuts, they can lift things, why not make kindling 😂😂😂. She's so wonderful and you two are such good company for each other. Friends forever. Thanks for sharing this ❤❤❤ 🌹🌺💐

I have learned that keeping parrots active by letting them bite tree branches is a way for them to sharpen their beaks in the wild. So this toy activity that you have with Cosmo is a great way for her not to go crazy in destroying furniture in the house especially those made from wood. I guess it also prevents Cosmo from plucking her hair(?) Oops! Sorry! I mean Cosmo's feathers! 😂 Thank you for posting something that lets us get to know more of your activities with Cosmo. You and Cosmo are both awesome! ❤

When I was little my Aunt Teedee had a parrot, he was big and green,and probably had never been out of his cage since my Aunt had him. She inherited him from her mother- in- law. He chewed up a big wooden spoon a day!

Does she get to pick what goes on the toy? This reminds me of my puppies teething and beyond. I have giant breed dogs. They can chew a $15 toy to nothing in 3 minutes. So I give them cardboard boxes. I don’t let them eat them. But they sure do love tearing them up and making a huge mess. I had a newfound that ate the trim on my door. So I gave him cardboard boxes. Saved me a lot in toys and repairs. They get new toys for Christmas, birthdays and some in between. But this mess made me think of the cardboard mess Duke used to make. 😂

I love Cozzy, but what is happening with her feathers, is she molting? Is this common for African Grays? I had a very pretty parrot 20 years ago, we had her a long time and her feathers never looked like that. Is she plucking her feathers 🪶?
