@@MidlandsOutdoors the sheepwash tunnel is blocked off by bushes for some reason went there today but at the end of the tunnel it was unable to walk up because of the bushes

Hello as a lad I used to visit my grandmother in rolf street Smethwick . Not far away was a branch of a canal and I used to sit on the bridge and watch workers filling the canal with wooden canal boats then sledging holes in them to sink them. Later diggers shovelled soil and ruble over the whole lot. This I guess was 1963 ??

Hi there thanks for sharing that enjoyed reading shame that it's had soil filled over we have lost some interesting canal parts guess the industrial use of canals has caused them to close to the decline of transporting goods across the canal . I always say only if we could turn back time and see what most was actually like
