It appears to be contradictory but it actually isn't. One can be very public and manifest in a very public way, The Sun, without revealing who or what one truly is, the 12th House. The concept of "the ego" is misleading and I would say does more harm than good. It creates another series of superficial, theoretical, false antitheses, like "Mind vs Body". There in fact is no such thing as "the ego". There is Consciousness and Depths and layers of Consciousness. In practical terms there is Awareness, and layers and levels of Awareness. There is no "Mind-Body-Soul". There is Being which necessarily has Layers and Levels. It is entirely the decision and capability of the Individual how Deep, Broad or High one Experiences and Manifests. The "ego" is merely Superficial Consciousness. The bulk of our words comes from a superficial, divided, polarized Consciousness. This is why this type of consciousness replicates itself across fields and subjects. And yes, I have 12th Sun but I also have Mercury Trine Pluto. ;-)

Its crazy man, cause I know im built to be powerful, I see it in myself sometimes. I can really relate to this analogy of the sun in the 12th house and I have been studying astrology since I was 15 I would go as far as saying this is totally accurate for me . I have the sun venus mercury and mars in taurus in the 12th house and I'm 36 and it's only very recently that I have become unafraid and I'm ready to start the journey to success

I always live with a fear that nobody cares about you unless you do something for them :/ But because of my Aries moon- I am able to always stay independently afloat without many issues as to how many fucks are given about the way I am perceived :)

never really understood myself.. Sun Moon Mercury in 12th house.. used to fantisize about me being in important positions or being somebody that demands power or influence over people, but I've never truly revealed that part of me to others, even those very very close to me.. also weird images often come up in my mind during times in bed (not asleep) or dreams.. sometimes so vivid yet I have no clue how that image is linked to my own experience.. I guess that's when I got connected with the darkness.. still trying to figure out who I am. Thank you Jewel for this video

Thank you. I was on a website for Esoteric astrology. My Cancer sun is in the 12th house. When the narrator came to the 12th house, he spit the information about my Cancer sun being in the 12th house with absolute disgust. Then he said people with that placement don't know how to love. Then he said ro learn to love myself, "if that's possible." Then he followed up with the hope that I would treat people nicer." It was brutal. That's not how anyone should speak to another human being. It isn't the first time, until now that I sort of get it. It was tough growing up. People always assume the worst.

It has been a long tough journey,this life. Your suggestion to accept and have "the grit" to be yourself is one I will take seriously. This is just ... WOW. I’ve recently been able to pinpoint that I am afraid of success - afraid of being “happy” and REALLY afraid of being seen as egotistical or selfish, etc. (MC ♎️ conjunct Pluto) 😳 ikr I am 44 at this time and life has certainly been a struggle. My parents never helped me, in fact when I lived with them on my teens I helped them pay bills. I put myself into school came from other country at the age of 16. I was able to graduate as a Nurse, have a house and family before 30, travelled the world on my 30’s, which is my biggest dream since I was a little. On my 30’s was the biggest highlights of my life, I experienced everything I wanna experience in material world outdoor stuffs, glamour life, etc. I had some secret enemies friends and family that I cut off in my life that put me down to the extent that wanna destroy my family life. Now I’m 42, calm down. I started reading about astrology, Feng Shui, diff religions kinda interest me. So many questions about universe and souls. I started collecting crystals and plants at home. I’m focusing more on my teen ager kids now.

wow. you hit every point. Aquaruis Sun 12th house + Rahu I've been in therapy fort about 2 years now working on some stuff. Through my joinery I've learned a lot about myself and my ego…. I have been suppressing so much of what my ego wants , and perhaps subconsciously what i truly want. But just don't know yet,, because its true about what you said! We really don't know …. many masks and personalities and sometimes I feel like I am being spoken through by an entity whether it be good or bad. Yes! so true …. my ego wants to achieve but I am afraid of the success and achievement. I am truly scared of my power…. I have Mercury and Venus in the 12th house..and I am fascinated by the Sun in the 12th .....There are "shades" of this...and all placements... like a 12th House planet having a close aspect with the sun..even if it is somewhere else in the chart. I would love to see an analysis of the differences between...say having the 12H sun vs...a Piscian sun. I notice that comedians and other people who have the ability to "see around corners" in the hidden human experience have some variation of the Sun in the 12th house. Also...Varun...in the 12th house, The asc in Pisces, ...so many variations that show the native being able to channel or see the human condition..combined with breaking through in their self acceptance so they can share their vulnerabilities (which is why we love comedians usually). I am not an expert..but I have a feeling that the cloistered atmosphere of the 12th house...the isolation, or prison or hospital energy...that it can be BETTER understood by seeing the 12th house is the key...to profound INFLUENCE. That a 12th house sun awareness...if combined with confidence...can be a profound leader. LIke an invisible cult. I am thinking of the musicians with 12th H Sun..and they have a cult following..but the cult is free..like a Pisces, they don't even know that they are in a "cult"..So the UNIFORMITY..or the alignment of their influence....creates an almost institutional cult influence that is so saturated with freedom..that no one can understand this paradox.... My moon is also in scorpio .. that adds another big challenge for the soul . Honestly I always felt so so different and till this day I found only one person in real life who has moon in scorpio . Sometimes I feel it’s truly too much to have these extreme placements in your chart but at the same time you are never bored of yourself because every day you wake up feeling in a certain way to feed your souls desires . Thanks for this video. I have my sun in Virgo in the 12th house only 2 degrees from my ascendant. I heard that some astrologers (or many?) consider this as if it were in the first. But as far as my childhood (and my current sense of self) is concerned, most of the 12th house descriptions fit me. I'm always trying to discover who I am, just to find out that who I am is kind of changeable. Also feel like whatever I say to people they cannot see the real me. Sometimes it feels like there is this glass wall between me and others...metaphorically speaking... Even though I feel that I am far from that scared and shy kid I was when growing up, I still feel this energy inside me. For a long time it felt like there was this "invisible force" inside/outside me which didn't let me manifest who I really am. Like it was allowed for many others, but not for me. I'm curious what is your take on this - would the sun be considered in the first house when it's on the ascendant? Thanks.

Hi :) I have my sun in the 12th house 4°09' Libra/Virgo too. I think I understand what you mean when you talk about that seeming invisible wall about people not understanding or seeing the real you. I feel it as though misunderstanding takes place within the distance of what is spoken and what is heard. Something lost in translation. As though, trying so hard to convey the raw feeling, idea or thought, as felt from inside, only when it is spoken, it is not easily understood. Like a voice screaming from within when misunderstood, an underlying inner yearning to be understood as you feel inside. I've seen the expression, feeling and vibe from other people as well. that moment they didn't feel like they were understood. But then again, because I know how it feels to feel that way, I make an effort to reach out and understand when I see it happening to others, or because I intuitively understand what the person is trying to convey, I help them by explaining it in a different way. Sometimes, just validating that person with what their trying to convey, and paraphraising back to them that I understand what they mean seems to make them feel a great deal better. I think thats one of the plus sides of this. Hope that makes sense lol xD

l Love my 12th House Sun ..it expresses itself as my dedicated lifelong quest on my spiritual journey. lt is and always has been the driving force in my life. It is my greatest desire. Now, l consider my greatest achievement is working with Higher Spirit Technicians on my own ascension path and also directly assisting the collective with my shared connection to facilitate everyone's progress, process. Of course, this is all done on the down low, l keep it very private, hidden and personal. l feel l am living my life's work. Although to look at me in the 3D it doesn't show ... unless you know me, and very few do.

I have this placement and I hate it. I spend a lot of time alone which I hate since I’m a Gemini sun. I lost all my friends (grew apart, moved away, became distant) now I’m spend time alone by myself at home. I’m also a cancer rising which I hate because I want to be out and having fun but I always end up stuck at home I really dislike this placement 😩

I have Sun at 29 degrees in the 12th house in Virgo with Mars there as well at 20 degrees. It's been difficult for me. As a child too. I always felt like where am I, who am I and what is this place ? A few years ago I started delving into Astrology, I know there is still so muuch for me to learn about it.

It is the sun rising after the long dark of night, there is far too much misunderstanding about this placement. We see it very materialistically, it is the most gentle, pure and welcoming position of the Sun in our experience in nature.

I was always afraid of the dark as a kid, petrified is more like it. Even as an adult now I still don't like to be in complete darkness but I have grown to like my alone time.

I’ve uncovered my Capricorn Midheaven Qualities. I have a ton of fire in my personal planets so I can be very popular but introverted at the same time my dominant planet Jupiter also helps my energy. I can say that fear has been a nag, but yes when I was younger before i started had sex (22) my fantasy were wild!

Ye interesting … I always felt that I. Oulu do with some more ego …. Or personality and now I am discovering that I’ve got lots of them, or at least vey complex . The opposites in me…. And befor I listened to this today I Was thinking just that as to how to have a coherent self with all these opposing forces that run my ship . I can also resonate with not having connection with myself and needing people , others impeded to bring that me out … just like you say of hiding. And yes I am much happier when I am vibrant and responding to the world around me , but yes the gripping desire for success that was hidden and now came to light Dow take first seat in the ride , even when I crash it rises again with new ideas and new and fresh as if nothing happened and the ship haven’t sunk a few days back .

+Maja .Vrhovac I prefer equal house. The other systems have their reasons for being but I don't find them nearly as accurate or universally fair as equal house.

Thank you for offering your insight. If you have your sun in the 12th house I am very surprised, since I hear the words that can be used appropriate to the explanation yet are too general and mainstream.Some of the words you are using in the interpretation are not used with the accurate syllogism. For example secrets- yes I uncover them due to logical deduction and then acting to find the truth. But, a desire to uncover the secret is not the theme. It is the ability to find the secret is there where others do not realize there is a secret. You are correct to say that sun 12th house gives insight to the higher conscious that others never seem able to see- yet we (sun 12th) live there. The sex thing- learning about ourselves you said- actually they seek partners who are helping them learn something about the sun in the 12th house person. I could go on and critique each line of your explanation.

Perhapse rather than critique, you can 'add to' Jewel's explination. Work co-operatively inorder to give others, such as myself a more wholistic picture. Both of your shared insights and knowledge is creating a much more clearer, wholistic, and deeper understanding about this placement. My son has his sun, moon and mercury in 12th house in Aries. He’s 11 and has a difficult time asserting himself. He is very much hidden.. keeps to himself. I constantly have to pull out of him what his likes and dislikes are. As a mom I’m very concerned about this placement. Do you have any recommendations on what I can do as his mom to help him with self confidence?

+Tam Tam Keep encouraging open self expression. He will grow into his spunky Aries traits as he grows out of his sensitivities. My mother has this same thing going on. She was victimy and a martyr for the first half of her life. Now she is a force to be reckoned with because she let go of her need for everyone to accept her. She became rebellious and it’s working for her. Encourage your son to strike back and be angry! It’s good practice for him.

Hi. Im an Aries with my sun in the 12th, along with my mercury. Watch what he does in his alone time, peek in and observe without disturbing. Alone time is very important to me because I can re-energized and day dream. I’m a very successful person and know what I want but the mind is so creative it’s hard for me to express bc I rather mix everything bc I feel I cannot express what I’m seeing in my mind. Might sound crazy, but it’s because in mind has so many fascists and layers it’s hard for me to express in words but I can see and feel it in my minds eye. Do not be fearful, you have a very intuitive, creative and unique son. Through life experiences he will become more expressive. I love my placement because in my soul I feel so deep about anything I put my mind to. I like to stay hidden because I’m an empath, I soak up people’s energy like a sponge and it drains me. Also, sun in 12th are prone to prophetic dreams. I have a lot of dreams and visualizations that occur in my own and others life. While I was younger I had a hard time distinguishing my own feelings and someone else’s. Now that I’m 30 and know myself and my energy, I know who to pull back from and that has helped me stop being so secluded. If you can always allow him to tell about his dreams, goals and aspirations because I do not share this type of things with strangers. I hope this helped. You’re truly blessed to have him, he’s very much spiritually gifted

Baddi Maddi Thanks so much for the feedback! Its funny that you bring up dreams because there have been a few times when my son has told me about his dreams! Now that you mention that it’s not a usual thing for an 11 yr old. His mars is in Pisces so he tends to live in his head most of the time. He is playful and fun at times I just worry about his ability to stand up for himself. But thanks again for the info!

I dont know why the 12th house is associated with darkness. Ironically the sun first rises in the 12th house. And if it truely is the house of God and spirituality it should be filled with light
